Hi its been a long time , I have been a GC holder since 2008 I like to aply for the N 400 but have a few questions

1- does it have to be a tax transcript or can I make a copy of my original tax returns ?

2- since i have been living here for 9 almost years , do I need 2 passport photos ?

3 - we went to visit Canada once a year for around 2-3 days each trip , but I cant remember the exact dates, what can I write on time spend outside the country ?

( it was tops a total of 40 days spend outside since 2008 )

1. Copy of the originals is fine but you may need to bring your originals tax forms to your interview as a precautionary measure.

2. If you have been living in USA for 9 years then no, you do not need 2 passport photos. The photos is only for people who are filling out the N400 out of the country.

3. You need to write down the EXACT dates of the last 5 years you spent out of the country for more than 24 hours. If you cannot find electronic travel records, you must do you best to estimate the exact days of your travel. Check with relatives you may have visited, review credit card statements or try to recover old travel records from airline or transportation company.

1- Tax transcripts are easy to get from the IRS and are a lot less paper to print and send.

2-They will take your photo at the biometrics appointment.

3-Did you need a passport to travel back and forth to Canada? (I forgot when that became a requirement). The dates would be stamped in your passport if you used one. Good Luck.
