3 N/As where? I understand somewhere notations changes from "paid" to n/a. I assumed it would be when checking "case status," but my case status keeps showing "action required" and on the phone with NVC today they said that this would not change until they review the documents-- the infamous 8 weeks. Am I missing something?

You are so close :) !

I requested two sealed police certificates from my prefectural police department. At first they asked why I was requesting two, and I explained to them that I needed to send one to the NVC (I didn't want to risk a checklist!) and the other one was for my US embassy interview. They talked to a few other people and then approved my request right away. I hear that in other prefectures they are not so open to issuing two certificates. I just got really lucky with mine!

Please continue to update here when you get your interview scheduled and once you get a date! :)

Called into NVC today (11 weeks since scan) and was told supervisor reviewed it yesterday and I have a checklist.  The operator was able to tell me that it was my wife's (the beneficiary) birth certificate missing. Once they get it will be sent for interview. I'm so frustrated. I know I prepared all 4 packets (1 for AOS, 1 for Visa App, 1 for my wife, and 1 copy for me) all identical and 5x checked everything.

Luckily I have a certified copy here in the US that I can send out tomorrow.

Hoping and praying that it won't be another 8-12 weeks.

That sucks @Charlie_AnaLynn Did you try to tell them that you have a copy of what you sent & that you did include it? You shouldn't have to wait for their mistake.

I can't even imagine how the heck they lose individual documents that are included in an actual compiled packet---do they just dismantle everything and place them everywhere? That's so frustrating! I don't think it will take another 8-12 weeks for you though. Usually once the requested document gets sent in, they immediately complete the case.

It won't be long now for you! :)
