You'll likely get CC next week. From CCs this week, It appears NVC completed cases from the 1st week in Dec this week. So any day now!

That's awesome.  I haven't been keeping track because it's been stressful when I stare at the updates obsessively.

I'm hoping good news for everyone!

So apparently the reasons behind so many delays in cases being reviewed and completed, is not only because they received so much 'mail', like many customer service reps have told us these last weeks, it's because the NVC employees who actually review cases, have had such a high turn over rate (many people quite because of high stress and low wages). This week they've been protesting for better wages, although an NVC employee said that they've been protesting in shifts so that cases are still being reviewed.

I still do not know the outcome and if the federal contractor will live up to the NVC employees demands. I keep searching but have not found anything yet, as today was the deadline for a decision to be made.

I called NVC today about 1:30 pm EST, spoke to a very rude rep. NO case complete, insisted on saying I will receive a notification in my email once it's complete, and kept saying 'It's in the right place'. I really hate hearing that, and I don't even know why I bothered to call. I know mid-day usually the reps are crabby and I've never gotten a helpful or positive rep during that time of day. I only call about twice a week to not give myself a headache... but it's still irritating nonetheless... I'll stop my rant for now.

I hope that this coming week we will see many more CC's. Have a good weekend everyone.

I have heard of that "no case complete, no updates" answer several times from rude reps :( That is sooo dissapointing,

ill be on my 10th week next week. I did not call this week because I am just tired of hearing the same answers.

Hopefully we will hear some good news soon! Have a good weekend!

I was just reading about this. we can only pray they continue with their job as we are the ones in the end who are hurt the most by this.  Maybe by tomorrow or before Monday a deal will be reached.

While I don't know the working conditions, or anything about work issues at the NVC, I do know their actions, of a work slow down or stoppage,  can  unnecessarily keep families apart longer than need be, increasing the already stress and strain on being separated from our family.

Contact info for the person trying to organize this "protest".

thought I'd post this in case some one wanted to either call or email and, explain to her that the real victim here, and the ones being hurt the most are us, the families just trying to be reunited with each other.

NVC received my files in the mail on Dec 5, and I now have 3 N/A. I never asked for a scan date, so I'm not sure on the exact time frame. Just thought I'd share if anyone is interested.

Congrats!

From my experience it took them 2 days to scan my documents after they received them . both times.

Ok so I just got off the phone to NVC ... my status had changed from "At NVC" to "Submit required documents" so I wanted to find out for sure what they do or don't have.  Jim explained it very well so i thought i'd relay the info on here.  He explained that the system recently changed to new wording, so rather than saying "AT NVC" until case complete, it now shows as "submit required documents".  He advised that while my documents (IV and AOS packages) were received by them on 31st January, they are still awaiting review, and therefore the system doesn't know they're there til that happens.   As in, the "submit required documents" won't change until they look through the documents to see what I did or didn't include, and either give case complete or a checklist of missing documents.

My case also requires a police certificate to go from NZ police direct to NVC (not via myself) and he was unable to tell me if that had arrived until they review the documents.  That sux, as I literally have no way of knowing if its there, and if it didn't arrive it can hold up my case.  But nothing I can do about it so I just wait and pray.

So while some people have been told the "submit required documents" means they have gone into review, it's not necessarily "review" like supervisor review etc ... it simply means the documents have arrived and have not yet been reviewed/processed.
I'm at 3 weeks and 3 days so far ... so I just have to wait it out til the 6 weeks before making more enquiries I guess. Hopefully the time flies by, or they feel generous and decide to pull out my case and process it early hehe. (wishful thinking)

I also called NVC and was advised that even if they take a week to scan your documents, the processing will be assumed to start from the day they received mail and not the day they scanned it. So I guess now I won't be calling them for at least 6-7 weeks as processing time at NVC has recently been updated to 8 weeks.

Good luck everyone.
