Hi! Thank you so much for replying. Good to know that he can still come to the US in the mean time. I guess I got the jargon mixed up. I am the US citizen and he's the applicant? Also, I saw your scan dates and supervisor review dates are later than mine. Congrats for pulling through! I hope this means I hear back from NVC soon as well. Fingers crossed.

hope u get CC soon!! pray for you!!!

btw, maybe ask your dad get return ticket prepared, just in case

Hi everyone!!

I am new here... Beeing following this posts for a few days now.. I had a quick question if I could get a little help with. Our approved petition was sent to the nvc on the 02/10 and I saw on one of the post that they take around 10days to get a case number...

Do I have to call them to get the case number or will they mail it to us?

My husband is being trying to call them since morning but he can't get through

Receiving welcome email may take longer, but you won't be able to pay fees until you get the email. So you can call to know your case number and IIN but will need to wait for the welcome email.

Hello guys,

Does anyone know how long does it take for them to review the case if it's already in the review department? My case is in the review department since feb. 17 but didn't hear anything from them yet :(

@IA0217 My case has been in review since Feb/10; I only get the same answer from NVC over and over again that it may take up to 8 weeks from this review request date. They always tell me that it may not take that long, but they can not tell me when my case will be complete. Hang in there, we're close. :)

I got the same as you today.  I wonder if its a new way they're doing their system, because that page they direct you to for "track your status" seems to be new and more informative than anything they had before.

I too have submitted everything

@Thesmiths2016 I spoke yesterday to a rep in regards to the 'check visa application status', I had told her that it used to say "At NVC" and now it says to submit documents. She said that it's saying this because we have gone beyond the normal review times, and that they have no control over this notification until the case is complete. She did confirm with me that they do in fact have our documents and that it's in the review department. I only hope this means we'll have case complete soon. :)

Yes, I got CC 3 N/A today my Scan date was 12/06/2016. supervisor review 01/17/17.

OMG:jest: I just saw 3 N/As I was very frustrated and did not think I will see 3 N/As. I am currently on the line waiting to confirm with NVC.

- My second scan date 12/01 - Due to missing to sign AOS

- supervisor review Jan 14th ( I called close to midnight as my 6 week mark was after Friday so hint for folks)

- Review Department - Jan 18 (Now as you all know this is the department that does the review, per NVC once your file gets here, it's first come first serve)

- Case Complete - Feb 21 (to confirm as I only saw 3 N/As which is generally indicative of C/C)

I wish the best for everyone else and having earlier folks gets CC means everyone else is getting closer.  It took total of 11 weeks and 2 days very long time indeed.

Thank you so much. This is very helpful. Do you have any idea as to why it has taken since October and they still havent gotten to even complete my application? I haven't gotten a much different answer besides what anyone else has stated. Could it be because my case is for a parent instead of spouse?

@aspoison22 I do not know. I can't believe that it would make a big difference. Have you tried speaking to a supervisor at NVC? Have you contacted your regional congressman/woman or your state senator? October is a long time I would push on and find out what's going on.

@Ahmed & Amy I'm only at 3 weeks since my scan date, so I don't think the answer NVC gave you applies to all. I'm calling them tomorrow to check if they have my police certificate so I'll ask and see if they tell me the same.

Thanks, TheSmiths2016 that's interesting... and it makes me giggle, thinking that they would try to help or prompt us.

Could it have been a coincidence that I received the email right after I had sent the IV and AOS package? (mailed Friday, email received Monday, a holiday)...  and that it wasn't in response to their receiving the package??

Also, we finished the online application in January, so it wasn't like they were giving us the next step immediately afterwards... hmm...

Anyone else hear about this kind of vague email (posted on the previous page)?

There's suddenly a lot more info available ... like when I log in to check my status it has links to information pages, and a case tracker "what's the next step" page. perhaps they've finally realised if they provide more information they get less enquiries.  Personally I'm quite impressed the changes, and I hope it allows them to have more time to get cases completed within the timeframe :-)
I think it probably was coincidental timing.
As a further piece of information .... I've submitted everything and today my case status showed from "AT NVC" to telling me to submit documents. Even though NVC has confirmed over the phone they received my packages.   I suspect they just keep telling you to make sure you've submitted everything until they've checked it all and given case complete.

@aspoison22 I'd suggest giving them a call. This is direct from their website on the case status page.

"

If it has been more than two (2) months since you submitted documents to NVC, and you have not received any communications from NVC:

  • Action required:  Keep in mind that NVC will not review your case file until you have paid your fees, submitted your Form DS-260, and submitted both financial and civil documents. If you are missing any of those items, please submit those now using these online instructions.
  • Action required:  If you have submitted all of the required documents, forms, and fees and still have not heard from NVC, please give us a call at 1-603-334-0700 or send an email using our online inquiry form. Our Customer Service Representatives can confirm whether NVC received your documents and update you on the status of your case."

Hmm... That is interesting. I've been told twice by NVC rep that they have our documents and the change in status is due to it going to the review department since we had past the normal review times. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give them another call today.
