Thank you for the link, but it says only about Applicant's civil docs, nothing about "Petitioner's Civil Docs". I have all the documents from my side ( beneficiary/applicant) and we are wondering if we need any civil documents from my wife (petitioner).

So sorry for some reason I read your post as "applicant" not petitioner.  Correct, you don't need the petitioners birth certificate etc.   If they're not currently living in the USA you may need documents for proof of domicile like we did, but otherwise no you won't need them.

Damn I went out and got them done specially.  I wonder if the ones I supplied will be sent to the consulate for them to use?   I only have 2 more which are for the medical so I hope I don't have to go and get more :-(

That's what I thought too! But I just found out that there are two cover pages. The checklist one and another cover page  called "document cover page" that you have to print from the confirmation page with the AOS and IV fees. ? it has your name on it, the NVC address and another barcode. I didn't even think about another cover page since the checklist page clearly says Cover Sheet. I thought there was just one. Ahhh why.

They make a point of saying to make sure it's included at the front of your package.  However, if you wrote your case number on the top of all sheets of paper like they said to, you may be ok.  Did you do this?  We were the opposite.... we sent it with the cover page, but not the checklist (we had a change of case number due to moving countries and they didn't reissue our checklist with the right number, so we left it out to avoid confusion).

I would hope they'll accept it without your cover sheet... it may just take longer for them to enter everything in without that barcode.

Pardon me if this has come up before. I would like to know if we need to make 2 separate packages (one for AOS and one for IV) each with same check list (provided by NVC)  and corresponding cover sheet (also provided by NVC that has barcode on it) and place them both under one package and ship them?

The barcode cover sheet is important to include.  Did you call them to find out if they received your documents?

Do I absolutely need to send passport sized pictures of the beneficiary to nvc or can I just take that to the interview??

You can take to the interview.  However, check your embassy instructions, as some embassies require passport photos for BOTH the petitioner and beneficiary at the time of interview.

They did receive my documents and they said they are currently reviewing them. I still haven't got a checklist for that missing cover sheet though.

I think you should be good.  I believe the barcode is to ensure that documents are with the correct file.  Either way, I would not send the missing cover sheet now as that would reset the clock.

Yes that's what I thought...I am not going to mail it unless I get a checklist. Let's hope it's all good. I think it will probably delay a bit the processing but it's already delayed anyway so all I can do now is wait for a CC or a checklist

That is crazy quick! I imagine you have'nt even gotten an email about case complete yet right?

It's amazing how much quicker you find out information by calling. If they wanted to reduce the number of calls they get they should really improve their email contact system. The computer system should be able to automatically send an email out informing us of a case complete as soon as the computer updates it. Why should that take a few days? Surely someone isn't manually sending the emails (but likely that is the case).

I just received the latter yesterday 2/18!!

base on NVC's current situation, I thought it will take forever, so what a good surprised!!

I'm reading on the NVC's website, documents for my wife to bring to the interview.  It list the same documents I sent to the NVC for proof of income, along with a competed and signed I864.  I thought all those were forwarded to the embassy by the NVC??

They are, I think that list isn't so much about docs that you need to "take" per say, they're more about docs that are required for the interview. So in your case being that nvc forwards them, the embassy would already have them. It wouldn't hurt to still take a copy to the interview just in case.
