JFH, I have had the very same thoughts.... There is something seriously wrong with the process.  I plan to look at legal options once I get through this hell.  Count me in as a class suit participant..

@missileman Agree on that, count me in too... If they're giving a certain time-frame, then they should follow through on it. On State department's website (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html), it says it specifically in big bold letters to allow "upto 6 weeks". By not meeting the deadline, they're technically breaking their agreement. Earlier in this forum, a fellow VJer also mentioned the same thing.

And to @JFH's point, I agree, I too wouldn't have a job the next day if I worked like that.... I didn't know this until recently, when someone in the prior month's thread mentioned it, that NVC is actually operated by a private company, FCi Federal, on a contract... You can google "FCi Federal NVC Jobs" and there are plenty of jobs listings. Interestingly enough, 1 of the requirements is "Good interpersonal and communication skills:whistle:

There is no change or no consideration for any change or restriction on visa policy for Pakistan. All such rumors are circulated for making new US govt controversial.

Statement Issued by US Consulate - Pakistan on 02-02-2017

Unfortunately this statement doesn't mean much. It's not like the embassies have any inside information.

The embassies for the other 7 countries had no idea they were going to be banned either. Even some of Trump's own staff didn't know he was signing the order.
