Yeah.. well.. Anyways.. If they issue me an old card that would be sufficient for me to get a drivers license but if they send a new one then I would have to bring another document to the DMV for proof of signature

Ah, I didn't know that - I didn't need any of that to get a driver's license in WA - passport, K-1 visa, foreign driver's license, social security number card and electronic I-94 was enough for me. I switched from a Japanese license as well, so I didn't need to do any of the tests.

I know other states have different rules though...

I had applied for the learners permit in IL and I got it but it expired with the expiry of my I-94. They said they need a valid immigration document that shows legal status.

Did anyone happen to have received the newly designed secure EAD card or Green card ? USCIS had posted a news that they will issue new cards from may 1st, 2017 (after their old stocks are finished) and these cards will no longer bear the applicant's signature. I wonder why they did this though

We received my wife's EAD/AP card combo yesterday. It has her signature under her picture.

When did the status say the card was mailed out? I'm waiting for mine now and it said they mailed it on the 8th.

Edit: So it's not the new one that she got? I was hoping we'd get the new one already. https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/employment-authorization-document

Hi guys. Can you please help me providing me with informations about how I can expedite my EAD? What I need to send, where... And also, I read a lot of you call them to check status. Who do we call? Oooh thank you so much in advance. ..

Quick update on my EAD/AP case: I just called USCIS about my pending EAD/AP status and the woman on the phone made a service request and gave me a confirmation number. I guess now I have to wait for an officer to get back to me.

Anyone know how long that usually takes until someone gets back to me?

I was also able to ask if my pending I-485 is still at the NBC or already on its way to the field office down here to Atlanta. As of right now, the I-485 is still at the NBC and within the normal time frame and the woman said that the officer who processes my case is the one who decides if I get an interview waiver or an interview letter. So the waiting game is still on for that case...

I called yesterday to make an inquiry about my EAD. They made a service request and that afternoon I checked my case again and it said my request was already completed. My case still says the same thing (case was received on February 21st). Has anyone else experience this? I am not sure if I should call USCIS again or just leave it and see what happens.

You should get something in the mail so. I filed a sr may 3 and my status said tvwas completed on the 4th. Yesterday I got their response letter. But it wasn't helpful, just said my EAD is within normal processing time :/ my NOA1 was Feb. 2

Yes I have experienced this. I dont know if the SR does the work but it definitely doesnt hurt to raise one. Because if could only help, it cannot delay the application anymore so why not take a chance. On day 77th, my service request was raised, assigned and completed in like 3 minutes 😂 and then there was no outcome...finally after 93 days i got the update that new card is being produced.

My received date on the NOA1 for all 3 applications is February 24th 2017 and today is day 75. So yes, I was able to request a status update.
