I had my biometrics on the 20th and my case status hasn't changed either, it still says fingerprint fee received. :(

I'm on the same boat. Husband had his biometrics on the 20th as well.

From what I've been reading around though, it is possible (although definitely not certain!) that when your case status remains on "fingerprint received" for a while, you may skip the interview altogether and get the green card faster (fingers crossed). However, nothing is certain when it comes to this stuff :/

When I had my infopass, the officer looked on the system and said it looked like I would be skipping the interview, although it could actually take longer than actually attending the interview. My status still has the "fingerprint fee received" message, so your theory may be accurate.

Did they tell you the reason why?

He did not no, and I can't even speculate as to why. I should have asked but I was there regarding the missing information on my NOA1's and he mentioned it when he was looking at my stuff.

I know they have a certain quota of interviews to do, but why some are selected and others aren't, I really don't know.

Some of the people who came to the US on a K1 visa didn't get an interview letter but an interview waiver. USCIS hat the ability to do that but that doesn't mean that everyone who is a K1 visa holder won't have a Green Card interview. You will have one when you file for ROC.

I hope so too! :)

I started a separate thread on this topic to try and gather some clues:

So far the common items are AOS applicants came on K1 visa and local offices were overburdened with applications causing long wait times. Also, most people have the same "fingerprint fee received" status on the USCIS website up until the day their green card gets approved.

I'm not sure but I heard that if you are ''chosen'' for a interview you get your Green Card faster.

Decided to join the February filers a little late after double checking all my dates. Sent off late February, got my NOA's on the 7th of March but online it shows the 27th of February so I'll go by that instead since that's what USCIS seems to go by.

Had my biometrics appointment on the 30th of March and since then no status change yet.

I'm on the same boat as you. Received my original NOA in late February but had to resend with the correct fees. Online, it doesn't say 3/5 but 2/24, so I'll watch both the February and March thread.

Biometrics on the 30th, too - hoping to get some sort of status change. Would really like to know when my interview is - I fear it'll be when my sister-in-law gets married :-/

Timeline:

  • AOS application submitted: 1/28/17
  • NOA1 for 130/765: 2/24/17
  • NOA1 for 485: 3/2/17
  • Biometrics letter: 3/11/17
  • Biometrics appointment: 3/30/17
  • EAD in production: 5/23/17
  • EAD received: 5/26/17
  • AP application received: 9/15/17
  • AP application approved: 12/2/17
  • Interview Notice received: 12/23/17

  • Green Card mailed (hopefully): 2/14/18

So, I got my RFIE today and I'm completely confused. I expected it to be requesting 2016 tax information but this isn't what I expected at all:

"Submit a copy of the marriage certificate, issued by the appropriate civil authority, between the K-1 applicant and the I-129F petitioner."

But.... I did? When we were issued our marriage certificate, I paid for 2 extra official copies and I included one of them in my AOS package. So I have no idea what they want. Another original? A copy only (I don't see why an original would be less than acceptable though instead of moreso)? My marriage license as well as certificate?

I'd appreciate any insight.

Related, am I able to include my 2016 tax information when I send this back even though they're not asking for it yet? I don't want to get a second RFE and I know for sure they didn't have that in my package.
