Besides that, thanks for the advice.

We were interviewed in Irving, Texas today for only 3 minutes; very light-hearted and short interview and we got approved. After a couple of hours, our online account is updated to “new  card is being produced” ; green card is expected to arrive in 2 weeks. So to those who are still waiting, good luck and God bless you all guys!

Hi everyone! and to my fellow Dallas filers in this thread.  We got approved on the spot today. God is great!  Do not be afraid if your marriage is really true they will see it right away. I have bunch of additional evidence but the officer said he doesn't need to look at them.  We just answered the yes or no on the i-485 and was asked about each other's birthday.  The officer said we are approved and should just wait for the mail in the next 14 days. Just an advice though. dress in business suit,  we got complimented by doing so. Wishing everyone a successful journey!

Hi j217,

did you receive your green card in exactly 14 days? We have set an out-of-the-country vacation on the 1st week of Sept. We hope that we can receive my green card on time. Thank you.

Hello, we had our interview in Houston, Texas last October 25, 2018. I must say, the immigration office was packed! Its like that day was interview day for everyone in the area! We almost got late because its hard to find a place to park and there's a very long line in the check-in counter. They will write your ticket number but they don't flash it on the screen, you have to listen to the speaker for your turn but since there's a looooooot of people, its hard to hear the announcement.

So the immigration officer went to the waiting area and was yelling for my husbands name. Lol!

Anyways, the interview was fast and easy. Basically they asked my husband the yes or no questions. and me (i am the USC) they asked me my husbands kids names from his previous partner and his parents names. She just scanned our documents real quick. Didn't even look at the new affidavit of support that we submitted. She didn't even look at the photographs we printed. Good thing I only printed 60 photographs. Lol. We brought our 1 yr old son with us to the interview.

The immigration officer approved it right away before we left her office. And gave us a white paper stating that we passed. then our status changed right away on the app saying "New Card is being Produced".

Today, we received the approval letter in the mail and the status was changed to "Card Was Mailed to Me".

My husband got the 2 yr green card since we got married January 2017 and we didn't reach the 2 yr anniversary before we got interviewed. But its okay. So happy we're done with it!

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

After being told that my wait time had been increased to 29 months from the date filed... I decided to write my congressman last week.

Lo and behold, today I get a letter in the mail telling me my interview is scheduled for next month!

It's dated one day after my e-mail to my congressman. I don't know if that's a coincidence or if they actually helped me out. They did respond to me and basically said that they cannot help me expedite my I-485 unless I meet some very strict requirements, such as being military or financial hardship. But I have a feeling they may have pulled some strings behind the scenes.

In any case I am thrilled! Also, our 2 year wedding anniversary is just a couple weeks before the interview. 10 year GC here I come!

Lifting conditions is over $600 including bio-metrics fee. So, glad I won't have to go through the expense and hassle of more paperwork.

Will be applying for citizenship as soon as I am eligible.

Yippeeeeeeeeee!

How are you on your 10 year green card already if you only filed in February of 2017? My husband's green card expires in October of 2019 and we filed in Feb of 2017. He is only on his 2 year one, how did you go through your two year one already? Surely even if you received it in February of 2017, the two year one would not expire until Feb of 2019?  Not trying to come across as rude, just trying to understand how you are there already :) Unless you filed for removal of conditions in Feb of 2017 and not just plain green cards like the rest of us.

I guess we lucked out waiting so long to file the I-485... it was definitely not intentional. I only found out about the loophole a couple days ago!

Nice, that will save you the hassle of removing conditions, especially since the wait time for I-751 in the field offices is now listed at 25 to 45 months (!). The downside is that the 3-year timer for naturalization does not start until you have your green card. At my rate I can file I-751 in October 2019 and N-400 in October 2020 - seems pretty likely that N-400 will be done before I-751 even with a year head start for the latter, crazy...

3 years from the day you get your GC. My understanding is that you can submit the paperwork 3-4 months prior to the 3 year mark, while I am not absolutely certain of this, I do recall reading that somewhere on the forums here... so maybe double check.

Yikes!

Hopefully they get this back log caught up. My congressman's office told me that due to the hiring freeze earlier in the year and people retiring, they simply did not have the staff to keep up with the timelines.

I am so tired of all this waiting! I'll be patient though for my naturalization... really it will just be nice to have the GC.

I got grilled so hard at the border last week with my parole document. Vehicle searched, the whole nine yards. I have a feeling that won't be the case once I have the GC. Right now just the thought of crossing again makes me feel very unnerved.

And of course the US passport will make the process even more easy.
