People take a moment and read this;

USCIS Is Receiving a Record Number of Citizenship Applications (Nov 10, 2017)

http://immigrationimpact.com/2017/11/13/uscis-record-citizenship-applications/

Immigrants waiting longer for US citizenship as backlog builds  (Nov 13, 2017)

http://www.scpr.org/news/2017/11/10/77606/immigrants-waiting-longer-for-us-citizenship-as-ba/

"A spike in U.S. citizenship applications before and after the November 2016 election has led to a backlog of more than 708,000 pending requests nationwide, with typical wait times for applicants doubling since last year."

Interesting. But that doesn't really affect anyone in this thread, or maybe even this entire section. Some of us don't even have their green card yet. So best case scenario is 2 years and 9 months (+ / - a few months, depending on the approval) from now we can apply for citizenship. And by then, President Trump's time in the office will be coming to an end. A lot can change in the next 3 years, so this info is better suited for the Citizenship section and not in the section for pending AOS applications.

Well, except that when USCIS' case load goes up without being able to add more officers, the time to approval for all petitions will inevitably go up. This will spill over into other categories, including adjustment of status.

The articles are probably written for an audience (US citizens) who may not even know that adjustment of status (or permanent residency) exists. So perhaps 'citizenship' is just an understandable example.

I'm sure that USCIS is slammed with applications in almost all categories. Wait times have already gone up this year for many application types and offices, and (arguably by design) under the current policies, they will only continue to.

Once again there is a delay getting our physical card.  Interview date was September 27 and was approved. Received a letter of approval in the mail the following week.  However we still have not received the actual green card.  We had a problem with the EAD card as well. We received the approval letter in May, but the card did not come until July!  No explanation as to why.  Anyone else in the same boat?

We had our interview on the 13th of this month.  Thankfully our officer was very nice and we were to do the entire interview in Spanish.  We basically just talked about how we met and told our story and that was it. She asked for bank statements but didn't even really look at them.  At the end she told us that we were approved!   God is good.  We got the greencard in the mail on the 20th, just one week and a day after the interview.   I don't know if it's the new or old type, but it has a very thick magnetic strip on the back with a hologram of face and all other vital details.

I wish the best to everyone or anyone who is still waiting for news.  Thanks to everyone's gracious help on this forum, this was possible!

We filed 2/11 and were approved without interview 8/14. However, USPS misdelivered his green card a few days later and now it's lost. So still no green card in hand and we likely have to shell out another $540 to get a replacement.

This is not good, did you called USPS to track and see at which address the card was delivered?

Yes, it was delivered to my mailbox, but I live in an apartment complex in which we have a mailroom with PO boxes. I checked right after it was delivered and it was not there. (We have had 2 other packages "delivered" that are missing too) I believe the carrier delivered to the wrong box, but they never found it. I talked to two supervisors and they said they did an audit of all the boxes and didn't find it. I don't know if they actually did that though.

They gave me a letter and USCIS tier 2 told us to send that letter along with a letter explaining things and they would waive payment. I did exactly what I was told and the application for rejected for non payment. So we have to file again with the $540 fee. What sucks most is that they will send out the same way and if my carrier does this again, we get to pay again.

Also, my husband has to travel out of the country for work and we won't have the green card in time even though we should have had it in August!
