I'm not upset that the process is taking so long. I'm frustrated that cases in my local office who also filed when we did have interview dates or are ready to be scheduled. Not comparing cases is hard-I think we all do it a little bit haha. It's silly to me that they work on cases in no particular order- and that's what bothers me, and many others. It seems to be luck of the draw and I know a lot of us on here find that annoying.

Gottcha. Usually (again, nothing is guaranteed with uscis) if at this point you still haven't gotten the ready for interview update, it's likely that your interview will be waived. Of course the status could still change at any time and can also jump straight to interview scheduled, but what seems to be common is the longer you don't get a status update the more likely it is that your interview will be waived.

Yeah its been frustrating. I called the 1-800 number  its all the automated recordings and it seems impossible to talk to a representative.

Hopefully we'll hear something by August! Hang in there

It's easy, you need to get to where you need to enter your case on the phone, wait for them to say everything and then press 3 to "report a problem with your case", that will get you through to a person.

Hello there.

My husband and I are a little worried.  Since April 6th, our case has been "Ready to be scheduled for an interview". It is now July 28th and we haven't received an interview notice yet.  The reason why we are suddenly worried is because someone else, from his same country (Dominican Republic), ALSO living in Los Angeles, sent their AOS from K-1 Visa packet in MAY and are now scheduled for their interview for August 23rd.  We submitted our packet on February 22nd and we still haven't received anything.

Any other February AOS filers still waiting for their interview date from the Los Angeles area?  I just need some reassurance that everything is going to be ok.  When we call the USCIS 1-800 number, the customer service representatives keep telling us that they are processing applications from November of 2016 but it doesn't make me feel better now that I know that someone else who filed after us are receiving an interview date within 3 months of filing.  If anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear from you please.

I just called the 800 number inquiring for my I-485 status. The automated service told me my case is in Lee Summit, MO. The attendant told me to wait until my case is transferred to my local office (Washington DC) for interview scheduling. The longer my case stays at MSC (Missouri Service Center) the longer the probability my interview will be waived. According to the official processing times in my local office, my case will be reviewed by the end of October or the first two weeks of November.

Yep that's exactly what you do. Remember that if you want actual information about your case, you have to request to speak to a Tier 2 officer as the ones answering the phones will only be able to tell you the information that you already know.

If you call and get to speak to a tier 2 officer, let me know what they told you as we are in a similar situation.
