the whole idea of hiring a lawyer is make sure the process is going complete and smooth.

From experience, The whole package will be sent back to you. I  also forgot to add the $85 biometrics fee in January and after a month, I received the package back. I had to resend everything less than 2 weeks ago.

Hubby came into the country Dec 15th and we were married Dec 30th.  Had to wait to file taxes so I could submit them with our AoS (the tax refund was helpful too).

 

We submitted our AoS (all three forms) on Feb 13th via Express Mail. It arrived on Feb 16th.  Wait.. wait.. wait...

Our check was cashed today, but we haven't gotten the notice via text or email yet.  I'm hoping they will come in shortly.

I sent my package February 9, it arrived February 13. They cashed my check in the early morning hours on February 22 (those eight days felt like the longest wait). I still hadn't heard anything from USCIS that evening, but received all of my texts/emails around 12:30AM on February 23. (I sent in an enotification form for my AOS, EAD, and AP, so I received three separate notifications). Still haven't received my NOA1, but I also haven't checked the mail yet today! Try to be patient, they will come in the next couple days!

Hello everyone,

 

I'm just a little confused an hope someone can explain me what is going on.

 

3 weeks ago I submitted all my packages (i-130 together with AOS and AP and EAD), about a week later I got the electronic notice of acceptance of my case and that its been forwarded to the NBC. Last Saturday I received all 4 Notice of Action Forms in Mail, all have the Priority date of February 10th, when USCIS received my package, but I have nothing in the "Notice Date" or "Received Date" field, its empty. Anyone knows why? Do I have to worry? 

Also when I try to search for my case numbers on the USCIS website, nothing shows up, shouldn't it bring up something by now? 

 

Also anyone knows how long it takes roughly to get an appointment for biometrics after the NOA1 has been received?

We are in the process of gathering our paperwork for AOS and as always, this forum is quite handy(Most likely I will be under March 2017 filers).  I was wondering how much the biometrics fee is and at what point this is paid...anyone with an answer out there?

Sent my packet this weekend! It was received this morning! Glad to have found this thread because the K1 thread really helped me with when to expect certain things!

I sent the biometrics fee $85 with the $1140 filing fee for a total of $1225.

My wife had her biometrics appointment today.  It was a very smooth and fast process.  We arrived about twenty minutes early and proceeded through the airport-like security. The letter said not to bring cell phones or electronics, which we didn't, but I don't think it would have been an issue otherwise.  We were directed to a room where we showed my wife's passport and the biometrics letter.  The latter got stamped and then my wife filled out a short form.  That form was turned back in and she was given a wait number.  After she was called, the immigration official reviewed her form, took her picture, her fingerprints and that was that.  It took maybe twenty minutes tops.

 

So from our experience, all you need to bring is your passport and the biometrics letter itself and it's nothing to worry about.  Now the real wait begins....

 

 

 

As a total aside, I have to mention that there was a bit of an odd experience for my wife.  The form asks that you indicate your race.  My wife is from Colombia and there, she is considered "morena" or brown and proudly so.  However, there is no "brown" option, but rather the two closest options were "white/hispanic" or "black".  She circled hispanic without circling white since she is obviously not white.  However, when the official who was taking her finger prints looked at that, she told her, "no you're white." My wife was a bit taken a back and said that she wasn't, but given the lack of another option, she acquiesced.   I know this affects absolutely nothing in terms of her immigration, but I'm curious if others here will have or have had similar experiences.

Today we got out Form I-797C saying Rejection Notice with all our documents sent. We came on k1 and k2 visa and filed our AOS on Feb 10, received USCIS on Feb 13.

 

It says- " Please be sure to complete the application fully, submit the appropriate fees, and include all required supporting documents" in the letter.

 

We had sent 2 money order of $1000 and $975 for k1 and k2 altogether. We wanted to send one money order of $1,975 (since we seen in some post people talking abt doing one money order/check for k1 and k2  incase k2 got rejected we dont ve to pay  full fee for filing alone) but the moneygram each money order limit is $1000 , we couldnt send one money order and we sent 2 money order of $1000 and $975 .

 I think we got rejected becoz we suppose to send  $1225 ($1140+$85) for my AOS and $750 for my son's AOS seperately. 

 

When we called USCIS today my Receipt No. Of FORM I-797C, Notice of Action was not in the system (since notice date is written February 22, 2017 in it) and the officer  said it takes some days to be in the system and for k1 and k2 we need to send seperate money order of $1225 and $750.

 

Here my question is how you guys sent the money order of $1225  in one money order? Plz help . Am really frustated now.

aww. I kind of did the same thing. I sent our packet on Feb 22nd, received on the 24th but still no text nor email notification.

I think your will be ok. But since our is k1 and k2 so it has to be seperate check/money order with seperate application. We sent the seperate application but the fee was combined. 

 

And also I think I messed up while signing my son's application coz i signed my name in the "Preparer other than the applicant"  plz help me where to sign in k2 aos. Thankx
