Dear VJ Community, my husbands sister is our co-sponsor, she sent me all tax papers originals for 3 years (13,14,15), will I need to copy them for my interview, or only originals are needed?

Will I need her 2016 tax papers? She's going to file them any day now, but Im not sure that  I will  get them via Fedex by March 28 (My interview day)

Taxes are due in the US on April 18th this year. So if you are through before then, I don't think you need the 2016 filing.

I have same question too

my interview date is March 21st, was wondering if I need to bring the 2016 file with me

if my sponsor already have 2016 file, can I just bring photocopy version? my sponsor still gather info, so I am worried the original one won't make it on time

what should I do.....so nervous...

Just came back from the medical examination ?? super tired. Don't plan anything for that day since this proces will take all day. And even if it doesn't take all day you will be left with no energy to do anything else. Just for FYI to everyone I got 3 shots, influenza, mmr and tdap. Some underage kids at my location got 5, idk what the other 2 were for. If anyone has any questions about medical in El Salvador go ahead and ask away. I might not reply today cause I'm exhausted and will be  taking a nap. But I'm so happy this is over. One step closer to being with my hubby ?❤️❤️ Interview is in 2 weeks.

It wouldn't hurt to have it as a back up. I would not stress too much though if you can't get it.

According to their own rules you only need the previous tax year... since 2016 isn't due until April 18, your interview is just shy of needing the 2016 tax year. I think you are fine with 2013, 2014, and 2015.

That being said, I would definitely have 2016 on hand if you are crossing the border for the first time after April 18, in case the border guards are on a power trip.

Agree with the advice above.  Take the tax papers for the previous 3 years (13, 14, 15 - you should have submitted these to NVC, but still take a copy along with the AOS that was submitted to NVC and please ensure all pages are included).  If you do have the petitioner's 2016 tax returns before your interview, take them in case they ask - you can also take an updated AOS with the 2016 income if the petitioner has the 2016 returns.  At the least though, I would take the 2016 W2s of the petitioner.  Good luck everyone!

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

In NZ it's $360-380 so it's comparable to 27000PKR looking at the exchange rate.  9500 INR seems really cheap!

The end of the month is this week :)  In the last wave, March interviews were scheduled beginning on February 2.  So, my best guess is by the end of this week April interviews will be scheduled.  Of course, it all depends on the local embassies - some are more busy than others.
