Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my interview experience!

I had a pending I-751 (ROC) filed July 2016 and N-400 filed (under 3 year rule) July 2017.

My interview was at the Centennial, CO office today at 7:30 am.

We got to the office and they didn't let my wife up since she had our son's food in her bag. So she had to go back to the car to feed him.

- Once I got up to the room, they called me right away (at about 7:10) and I walked up to the officer and she asked if I brought my spouse with me. I said yes, but she's in the car feeding our son. She was very understanding and said she'd come back out in 10 mins to check on me.

- She came back out (once my wife was back with me) and called for me. She explained to us that she will need to do a I-751 interview (even thought we never got a notice) with both of us and then she will escort my wife and son out while she finishes my N-400 interview.

- Once she swore us in, she started asking some basic questions like how we met, where we lived, why we moved etc. She asked for docs for our son's birth certificate, tax returns etc. Once all that was done, she said my wife was good to leave, so she escorted us both out and just me back in.

- She swore me in again and started going through the N-400 application.

- She started at the name, DOB etc. and once all the ID info was completed, she switched to the English test. This was to read and write "The President lives in the white house." After this she re-asked some questions about our marriage/life together. Once that was done, she proceeded to the Civis test.

- Here were her questions:
  - What is one responsibility of a US Citizen?
  - How many senators are in the US?
  - What are the two branches of congress?
  - Who is your Governor?
  - Who was the first president?
  - What movement ended racial discrimination?

- Since I answered all 6 correctly, she didn't ask anymore and said I passed it.

- She then proceeded to ask all the Yes/No questions. I had missed out a couple of check boxes in my original application, but she didn't say anything about it and updated it all.

- She asked about citations and I asked her if traffic tickets counted, she said yes and asked me details. I told her I only remembered one for speeding from last year for about $100, but said there might be more that I don't remember. She said that was okay and as long as there were no misdemeanors, there wasn't an issue.

- She also asked me about my involvement in groups (church membership/non-profit) and asked me a couple of details.

- Once all that was done, she asked me to read and sign the application.

- She then told me that my petition was approved! She said she would do her best to get me an oath within a couple of weeks or so. She did say that they've been scheduling them pretty quickly and that I should see an email from them as well about the oath since mail takes a while sometime.

- She handed me the final approval sheet, I thanked her and she walked me out.

Thank you to this community for all the help and encouragement through this process! Would be a lonely journey without you guys. If you are still waiting....don't lose and hang in there. Your time will come and it will be a great day! If anyone has any questions about my experience, feel free to reply or message me and I'd love to help!

Thank you! We are hoping to travel mid-late August, so will still be a little anxious until my oath letter, but otherwise, feels like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulder!

Hopefully that will be very soon.  You can also reschedule oath if cancelling tickets is onerous.  In other news, just got a text saying my interview has been scheduled.

I noticed that you are an Indian citizen.  If you are considering applying for the OCI card, then you should consider getting a certified true copy of your naturalization certificate at your oath ceremony. That way you will be prepared for it if the Indian authorities ask for it.

Hi all, it looks like things are moving in Denver! I’m a late December filer and received an online notification today that they’ve scheduled my interview! Not sure of the exact interview date yet, since the online status changed only this morning. My status did not change from ‘We’ve reviewed your biometrics’ until today when it says ‘we’ve scheduled your interview’.

My timeline and applications: I’ve lived in the US since July 1997 and have had a 10-year green card since June 2003, which is based on my 2000/2001 I-360 application as the victim of serious domestic violence/spousal abuse. I’ve remewed my green card once, in 2013, and I filed my N-400 on December 26 2017.

I realise my circumstances might be quite different from others’, which is why I’ve provided so much information - but I’m hopeful that my interview being scheduled so quickly means others will be moving forward in the process as well and we’ll be seeing more interviews scheduled soon.

yrc - you commented about getting true certified copy at oath ceremony, were you able to get that copy successfully? If you did, how did you go about it at the ceremony .  I really would like to have one at the ceremony which is tomorrow at the court house. I spoke to uscis customer service and was told that I will have to make info pass at local office to get that cert.  thanks

Not sure what your question is, but I don't see why there would be any issues with your interview. I would just take as much documentation as possible.

My IO pretty took everything that I gave her and made copies of some originals. Otherwise, I think you'll be good!

Thank you, I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’ve got lots of evidence and have been through a number of interviews for my I-360.

The point of my post was just to provide information about my processing time since there’s been a lot of discussion about how slow Denver is. Perhaps something I’ve written will be helpful to anyone on the same or similar timeline as me.

I have just heard that my interview has been scheduled and am waiting to get the notice with the date by mail.  So my post is not based on firsthand experience.  Its a suggestion based on reading comments from various forums which appeared to say that it is possible to get a copy at the oath ceremony itself.  Of course, I might have misunderstood or it might be possible to get a certified copy only at some oath ceremony locations.  So I guess, the only way to get a definitive answer is by asking the officials at your oath ceremony. The other reason I suggested this is because the OCI information pages do not indicate if they return original documents and I would not trust them with the naturalization certificate. I hope that you will find out and share with us whether its possible to get the copy at the oath ceremony.  And, lastly congratulations!

That makes sense! Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

And that is a really quick processing time for your N-400! Did you file online?

No worries! :)

And yes, that’s really quick compared to others I’ve seen on here. I did file online, and my estimated time of completion said March 2019. I’m thrilled that they’ve scheduled so quickly, and hopeful that this means processing times might be speeding up generally.
