Good Morning everyone!

I am in my Naturalization process and I did my finger print on 12/23/2016 and I am waiting for the interview.
I have a who is now 17 years old and is a green card hold, we both live here in the US since we came with K1/K2 VISA.

He is becoming 18th years old on March 2nd, 2017.
In case that I receive my naturalization before he completes 18th, can you guys please let me know what would be necessary for him to obtain the American Passport?
Thanks

He would be eligible to apply for citizenship the way any other minor would be eligible, through a naturalized parent

Maybe this thread will help  Good luck

Please do not give false information.

If the kid is living in the custody of the naturalized parent. Has a green card and is less than 18 years old the day the parent naturalizes the kid acquires citizenship automatically.

The kid doesn't have to apply for anything.

The parent can either apply for a passport or a citizenship certificate for the kid. Short term proof is the passport, long term proof is the citizenship certificate even though it costs and arm and a leg.

Good luck.

The question was what would be needed to obtain a US Passport for the OPs son. Not what would be necessary for them to be a US Citizen.
