Hey guys, I had my interview today, it went pretty well! i was interviewed but a very nice lady! She's stoped asking me questions after I got 6 right. I got recommended for approval

The only thing that she was interested in proof that we are still living together. as i said tax returns, bills etc.

I can relate your concern about the previous interview you had during the AOS i had a similar experience for my AOS interview. 

This was way better experience for me but again every case is different..

Good luck with your interview i hope it would go as smooth as possible.

Hi all,

 

First I want to say this website has been super helpful in my naturalization journey.

 

I had a quick question, I had my interview last week and pass everything. I got the form at the end that said I was recommended for approval and my USCIS case status was updated to "

Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number NBC*XXXXXXXXX, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

 

Any idea who long until I get scheduled for my oath ceremony? I am in the DC area, and I need to travel for work in October, I was hoping to have this all settled before I go, of course I can still go on my Canadian passport, but coming back might be a pain.

hi.i got that update in my case aswell.im waiting for my oath to be scheduled.let me know please if they schedule your oath because I'm a DC filer too and we will go to the same place to take the oath ceremony unless you want to change your name.i will keep you updated

Yeah, I think we are in the same boat, I had my interview on the 21st, it went really well, no issues, and I'm not changing my name or anything. I will keep you updated as well, good luck!

You won't have any problems traveling after interview but before ceremony because you don't hand your GC over until you're walking in for the ceremony. The only problem would be if it's scheduled for when you're away!

Right, that's actually part of the concern... If I knew when it was I could at least plan accordingly. Anyone have any idea on how long after I have been "Placed in Line" that the notice for the date actually comes through? (I mean generally of course, I know it can vary. I am in the DC/Northern VA area)

Oh well. No-one actually answers you that. Fast is 2-3 weeks and if your office passes a lot of applicants and it is not able to handle, it will take 1-3 months. 

But I hope you will get your Oath Letter soon.

Day 00 - 12/23/2016: Sent N-400 + I-942 to Phoenix, AZ lockbox via USPS.

Day 03 - 12/26/2016: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 25 - 01/17/2017: Sent email to support regards to application.

Day 26 - 01/18/2017: N-400 rejected because incorrect payment amount.

Day 32 - 01/24/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent.

Day 34 - 01/26/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 49 - 02/10/2017: N-400 rejected again because incorrect payment amount.

1) Quote the latest update.

2) Copy the entire list inside the quote (in the reply box)

3) Delete the whole Quote and Paste.

Sigh, I am starting to get really frustrated here.
My case has been in line for an interview since March 2017. No updates since then. I am at the Honolulu office. When I took my fingerprints mid March, the lady told me that it used to be 3-4 months in total, now it's more like 5-7. 

According to the processing times, Honolulu is working on cases from October 2016! So it's even longer. 

How come that I keep seeing filers who applied for the same time at the same field office and they got their interview already?

I thought they work on cases as they come in?

I applied 3 months before my 5 year GC anniversary. GC "birthday" was on April 30 2017.

Be patient. 

USCIS always has a secret of how they schedule your interview, or how they make decision on your case.

However, my USCIS office actually schedules interview based on priority date, but some people behind was scheduled. No-one knows.

Be patient and it will come whenever you don't even notice anymore.

N-400 Naturalization Journey SAN FRANCISCO FIELD OFFICE

Total processing time from last successful submission to Oath Ceremony: 253 days (8 months and 11 days)

Spoiler

02/26/2012: Arrived SF airport. 

11/28/2016: Eligible for early-filling.

Day 00 - 12/23/2016: Sent N-400 + I-942 to Phoenix, AZ lockbox via USPS.

Day 03 - 12/26/2016: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 25 - 01/17/2017: Sent email to support regards to application.

Day 26 - 01/18/2017: N-400 rejected because incorrect payment amount.

Day 32 - 01/24/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent.

Day 34 - 01/26/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 49 - 02/10/2017: N-400 rejected again because incorrect payment amount.

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: Email form USCIS support responded package was rejected in error (!?) for the first and second time submissions, they requested 3rd resubmission + tracking number in order to apply my earliest priority date. 

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent on the same day, also sent a response to Lockbox to provide information to USCIS.

Day 54 (Day 0) - 02/15/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 62 (Day 8) - 02/23/2017: E-notification, E-mail from USCIS, E-mail from Support announced Resubmission was accepted.

Day 66 (Day 12)- 02/27/2017: Notice of Acceptance as Fees Waiver Approval received. (All fees were waived instead of reduced by half as supposed by filing form I-942)

Day 69 (Day 15) - 03/02/2017: Online Status Update: Fingerprint Appointment was scheduled. 

Day 70  (Day 16) - 03/03/2017: Fingerprint Appointment Letter received. Biometric will be on 3/15/17. 

Day 70  (Day 16) - 03/03/2017: Early Walked-In for Biometric at 3:45 PM.

Day 87 (Day 33) - 03/20/2017: Online Status Update: Case was placed in line for interview. 

Day 234 (Day 180) - 08/14/2017: Online Status Update: Interview has been scheduled.

Day 239 (Day 185) - 08/19/2017: Interview Letter received.

Day 269 (Day 215) - 09/18/2017: Interview 2:30 PM at USCIS SF Field Office. Recommended For Approval. 

Day 280 (Day 226) - 09/29/2017: Oath Ceremony Letter received. N400 is approved.

Day 291 (Day 237) - 10/10/2017: Last Online Status Update: Oath Letter was mailed. Too late!

Day 307 (Day 253) - 10/26/2017: Oath Ceremony in Oakland, CA. Citizenship granted.

Day 307 (Day 253) - 10/26/2017: Passport applied.

Day 321 (Day 267) - 11/09/2017: Passport Booklet received. 

Day 321 (Day 267) - 11/09/2017: Naturalization Certificate received. Journey done.
