You request to reschedule and they send you another date. To be honest after waiting this long to get your interview date , I would not cancel , I would speak with whomever is in charge of your nursing program , either the clinical or program director and explain that you have your naturalization interview coming up and it happens to conflict with one of your nursing classes. I truly believe that they will totally understand and allow you to be off that day. Better now versus rescheduling and it falls on a day that you have an important exam. 

So just my two cents. 😁 All the best in both areas.

You should. Get the naturalization process done first. Rescheduling interview date will most probably put you back in the line while missing one day at the school, you can still makeup.

Thank you, I'll see what the school says. I really wasn't expecting this process to take so long! I thought I'd be done before school starts. Sucks!

And excellent that you are emailing them. This way everything is documented. I am not a nurse but I am a health care professional and during my studies I also had clinical. I am not trying to downplay the importance of each class but first day of clinical is typically class intros , what is expected of you during clinical and some basics of clinical life. I don't know you but I am very proud of you starting this great field. I am trying to convince my niece to also look into finding a career in the medical field.

Thank you! Yes the clinicals are important as we practice our skills on 'real' people, not mannequins. The 1st one is 5th September so I'll be in my 3rd week by 18th September (interview day). I will wait to hear what the instructor says and hope they are sympathetic. 

Thanks again for everyone's advice. I was about to mail a letter back and reschedule but now I've changed my mind thanks to you guys!

Good afternoon everyone,

So I had my interview yesterday in Chicago. It was pretty simple. Got asked few questions ( A state the neighbors mexico, is the president a republic or a democrat) and got asked the standard interview questions. It took about 10-15 mins total. Only problem I didn't have any pictures with me and since my passport had two middle names that I did not want to be included anymore I needed pictures. The officer was nice enough to let me go get the pictures and come back. 

All in all it was a good experience, expect she gave me a paper that said a decision could not be made. Is that concerning?

Congrats!! It seems pretty much the norm sometimes for them to mark that on the application especially if it has to be reviewed by their supervisor first. I wouldn't worry.  I got the same on mine and had my oath ceremony yesterday. 😁👍🏽

Usually how long will the interview letter arrive ? 

Interview was scheduled on Monday (8/14) and I haven't got it today Friday (8/18)

N-400 Naturalization Journey SAN FRANCISCO FIELD OFFICE

Total processing time from last successful submission to Oath Ceremony: 253 days (8 months and 11 days)

Spoiler

02/26/2012: Arrived SF airport. 

11/28/2016: Eligible for early-filling.

Day 00 - 12/23/2016: Sent N-400 + I-942 to Phoenix, AZ lockbox via USPS.

Day 03 - 12/26/2016: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 25 - 01/17/2017: Sent email to support regards to application.

Day 26 - 01/18/2017: N-400 rejected because incorrect payment amount.

Day 32 - 01/24/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent.

Day 34 - 01/26/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 49 - 02/10/2017: N-400 rejected again because incorrect payment amount.

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: Email form USCIS support responded package was rejected in error (!?) for the first and second time submissions, they requested 3rd resubmission + tracking number in order to apply my earliest priority date. 

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent on the same day, also sent a response to Lockbox to provide information to USCIS.

Day 54 (Day 0) - 02/15/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 62 (Day 8) - 02/23/2017: E-notification, E-mail from USCIS, E-mail from Support announced Resubmission was accepted.

Day 66 (Day 12)- 02/27/2017: Notice of Acceptance as Fees Waiver Approval received. (All fees were waived instead of reduced by half as supposed by filing form I-942)

Day 69 (Day 15) - 03/02/2017: Online Status Update: Fingerprint Appointment was scheduled. 

Day 70  (Day 16) - 03/03/2017: Fingerprint Appointment Letter received. Biometric will be on 3/15/17.

Its usually 4-5 days rlam57, but I have seen here and others from outside VJ it can take 8-10 days also.its not unusual, its just regular first class mail that they use, which is slowest ( compared to priority etc).

 

keep fingers crossed, if it shows scheduled you should have it soon probably guessing sometime next week :)

Total processing time from last successful submission to Oath Ceremony: 253 days (8 months and 11 days)

Spoiler

02/26/2012: Arrived SF airport. 

11/28/2016: Eligible for early-filling.

Day 00 - 12/23/2016: Sent N-400 + I-942 to Phoenix, AZ lockbox via USPS.

Day 03 - 12/26/2016: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 25 - 01/17/2017: Sent email to support regards to application.

Day 26 - 01/18/2017: N-400 rejected because incorrect payment amount.

Day 32 - 01/24/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent.

Day 34 - 01/26/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 49 - 02/10/2017: N-400 rejected again because incorrect payment amount.

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: Email form USCIS support responded package was rejected in error (!?) for the first and second time submissions, they requested 3rd resubmission + tracking number in order to apply my earliest priority date. 

Day 52 - 02/13/2017: N-400 + I-942 resent on the same day, also sent a response to Lockbox to provide information to USCIS.

Day 54 (Day 0) - 02/15/2017: N-400 application marked delivered.

Day 62 (Day 8) - 02/23/2017: E-notification, E-mail from USCIS, E-mail from Support announced Resubmission was accepted.

Day 66 (Day 12)- 02/27/2017: Notice of Acceptance as Fees Waiver Approval received. (All fees were waived instead of reduced by half as supposed by filing form I-942)

Day 69 (Day 15) - 03/02/2017: Online Status Update: Fingerprint Appointment was scheduled. 

Day 70  (Day 16) - 03/03/2017: Fingerprint Appointment Letter received. Biometric will be on 3/15/17. 

Day 70  (Day 16) - 03/03/2017: Early Walked-In for Biometric at 3:45 PM.

Day 87 (Day 33) - 03/20/2017: Online Status Update: Case was placed in line for interview. 

Day 234 (Day 180) - 08/14/2017: Online Status Update: Interview has been scheduled.

Day 239 (Day 185) - 08/19/2017: Interview Letter received.

Day 269 (Day 215) - 09/18/2017: Interview 2:30 PM at USCIS SF Field Office. Recommended For Approval. 

Day 280 (Day 226) - 09/29/2017: Oath Ceremony Letter received. N400 is approved.

Day 291 (Day 237) - 10/10/2017: Last Online Status Update: Oath Letter was mailed. Too late!

Day 307 (Day 253) - 10/26/2017: Oath Ceremony in Oakland, CA. Citizenship granted.

Day 307 (Day 253) - 10/26/2017: Passport applied.

Day 321 (Day 267) - 11/09/2017: Passport Booklet received.

Instruction for updating correctly:

1) Quote the latest update.

2) Copy the entire list inside the quote (in the reply box)

3) Delete the whole Quote and Paste.
