Done! The oath ceremony in Charleston was great. Of 24 citizens we had 17 different nationalities- I was the only German. It was fun and a very large audience. We sang the Star-Spangled Banner together, repeated the oath after the officer, and pledged allegiance to the flag. It was much more emotional than I thought it would be, I was really surprised to get a little teary eyed. But with everyone together and their different backgrounds, and the meaning of taking on another nationality, it was a big day. The certificate of naturalization looks pretty cool, too!

 

Thanks to everyone! Looking at the different timelines really helped a lot.

 

Good luck to the remaining applicants and a fast process!!

Hey guys, I had my interview today, it went pretty well! i was interviewed but a very nice lady! She's stoped asking me questions after I got 6 right. I got recommended for approval

it seems Chicago FO is having a long wait... :( no update on my case since Mar 03, since then it still says as of today on March 3rd we started the scheduling process of your interview ....and will notify you.

 

When they say we started  scheduling interview process does it mean the Background check is DONE or has started? anyone know?

I think one moves in that status only when background check is done and successful. Others may chime in. Chicago FO is one of the backlogged offices due to its huge metro area/immigrant population. Expect long delays at these big city FO's. They move very slow.

Looks like 2 people from December have had their interviews scheduled at Chicago. Seems to be between 2-3 months to get the letter after you are placed in line for Chicago, but not enough data to comment. There are more people from Chicago in that forum but they don't seem to be actively updating their statuses. Can check these stats too:

Anyone going thru ATL and moving at a snails pace? 

 

I filed February 12, for anniversary date of May 14, and I had fingerprints taken mid-March. The case tracker still shows "we scheduled your fingerprinting".

 

Is this slow pace typical of other ATL filers?

Yep, same situation here. Filed under the 5 year rule, FP completed 3/3, still says FP scheduled :). There have been many instances in ATL where the status does not necessarily update to "in line" and you just get your interview letter...

Hi same here I got NOA on Feb 20 I had finger prints done and I am inline for interview since April 21st.

One person in Jan filers just received an interview letter a few days ago. In line to interview scheduled is 3.5 months. I'm a March filer and hoping we all will receive good news soon

We are in the same boat! 

They cashed our check Feb. 2, then biometrics came mid-feb. Now we have been "in line for interview" since March 6. I check daily in hopes our status has updated. 

We have a cruise coming up in November, I really hope this doesn't fall on that 1 week out of the year we will be going on vacation!!
