Hey - I had a similar case to yours; I had my interview date right in the middle of my vacation in Europe and I just flew back for 24 hours to go to the interview and fly back to Europe. Having that said, here are the answers to your questions (to the best of my knowledge):

1) Rescheduling the interview is usually up in the air, you never know when you're going to get it. I know someone who tried to reschedule and it took him over 18 months to get another date.

2) To reschedule, you'll have to return the notice I believe with your request (that's what the guy I know did and after that, they kept saying that they never received his request).

3) You can make the trip to attend the interview, but, choosing the date for the oath ceremony is totally up to the officer and how much they like you (provided that they approve you on the spot and don't tell you that a decision cannot be made at the time)

4) You can travel with your passport after the interview. Once you've taken the oath, they tell you that you can only travel using your US Passport.

I would recommend you don't reschedule your interview and fly back for it.

You can ask to reschedule, but as far as I remember, you need to provide a good reason why you can't.

Hello Friends,

I got the letter in mail, my interview date is June 6th. I am planning to fly to Dallas and attend the interview. Any idea on the typical number of days between the interview date and oath date in Dallas??

Hi, just got my interview notice, scheduled for June 9th. I have a few questions:

1. I am applying after 5 years in the US as a green card holder (came to the US on a conditional green card based on marriage, divorced unfortunately, then removed conditions). Do I need to bring a copy of my divorce decree with me? Or should it be an original copy?

2. I have 5 years of tax returns - is that enough?

3. Should I bring my current marriage certificate (I am happily remarried with two beautiful daughters)?

4. How can I find out when will my oath be? I am scheduled to travel for work obroad June 10th-18th.

5. Is there anything I am missing?

Thanks a lot!
