Thank you! I am going to do that at my infopass appointment!

You cant change your address at an infopass appointment.. you either have to mail a form.. or do the change online through your  myuscis account (I highly recommend this option) let me know if you need helping locating this. After your address change has been processed you can request a copy on the notice also online.. I had a similar situation and this is the way to go.  The address change is usually processed between 5-15 days and the copy of the notice doesnt take longer than 5 days

Hi I did that online but after filling out the form I was asked to mail it to an address, is this the same for you? Also because my visa expired I don't really have a reason to update my address in the US anymore. I wanted to go to infopass appointment so I can ask them to send it to another address. The e-request thing on uscis website also let's us request it to a different address so I think it's possible to ask them directly?

I actually did that e-request on 10/29 and I even got an automatic reply saying they've sent my notice to that address, but I don't think they did  - because I made a congressional request around the same time asking uscis to resend my notice so they just sent it to my address in the system rather than my attorneys office address I gave on the e-request form.

This whole delivery mess has got me so confused and anxious. :/

Thank you so much for the help!

USCIS only sends the notices to the current address you have on file regardless of what mailing address you put on the request.. so first you need to update your address to the address you want the notice to be sent. here is the link to do it  https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do

when you fill it they will send you an email with a request #

In my experience sending mail to an U.S. address is the best option, but we have seen people from other  countries receiving mail from USCIS outside of the U.S. (after a month) So if you have the address of a friend/family in the U.S. who can receive the letter for you you will get it faster and for sure...

I went to an infopass appointment myself to change my address and the officer gave me a paper form of the link I gave you and told me "they dont change addresses at infopass appointments" (maybe you will have better luck?)

I was having issues with my delivery address too and after months of waiting, like twelve calls to their customer line and going to an info pass appointment, I can assure you this is the way to fix it.  Update your address online, and then put in the request to send another notice.. only then it will be sent to where you want it to be sent.

Hope this helps, I understand your frustration..

Yeah that is really useful! Thanks so much for the tip! just one more question.. did you also mail the change of address form to the address given on the instruction? Seems like it will take a long time for it to be updated..

I did it all online.. Mailing it would take forever.. when you fill out the form in the link that I gave you, it doesnt create a service request number? And it shows up in your history at my uscis?  If it doesnt try telling them this is a pending case when they ask you to see if that works..

umm weird.. I went to the link you gave me and completed the form. I know in the beginning it asks whether my case is pending, I tried both. After completing it, I was shown a form in pdf format, a service request number and a text saying that my request is pending.  The screenshot is the last page of the Pdf. Can you see it?  In the instruction section I am told to mail the completed form to USCIS. I printed out the form today and I'm going to take it to my infopass appointment..

Thank you for the replies btw!

I think you are good.. the pdf is just so you have a copy of the form for your records... check on myuscis in the history area.. if it says something like this:

10/05/2017

On October 5, 2017, your request to change your address, referral number CA1xxxVSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

(yours will probably say that it hasnt been assigned to an officer yet)

then your request has been made and there is no need to mail it..

once it says something like this: On October 9, 2017, your request to change your address, referral number CAxxxVSC, was completed.

You can then fill the request to mail another notice

Hey so I just came back from my infopass appointment and what you said is absolutely right, they couldn't do anything for me except asking me to call customer service number and update my address then resend the notice..

Do you mind telling me why you wanted to change your address in the first place though? My issue is that the mail was delivered to my work address and it got returned to uscis both times(June and November)  and we didn't even see any couriers coming in the office with my notice. There was a guy before me at the infopass appointment who is having exactly same situation.. Weird

I tried to get an usps tracking number from uscis but I got forwarded to some secondary line and the wait was 180 mins according to the automated voice, I don't have a US cell number at the moment so can't give a phone number for them to call me back. So no luck there..

I was thinking maybe there's no point for me to change my address if I figure out things with that usps courier.

And thank you!!

you are very welcome!!

I needed to change mi address because they had on file my Dominican address (my mistake according to USCIS) and after 2 months of being approved I still hadn't received the approval hardcopy because the D.R. mailing system is not very efficient (mail gets lost, the mailman doesn't want to walk an extra block, our street naming system is a crazy mess, etc) and when I called customer service they said they couldn't change the address because I was already approved. After changing my address (online) to an U.S. address my approval came within a week and I was finally at peace. :)

Oh okay what kind of address did you give as your US address? Was it an apartment complex address (or any residential address with mailboxes) or an office address?

I gave them my boyfriends home address..  XY street Apartment 123. Town, State Zip Code.

But any US address that will work.. they send it through regular mail and they dont discriminate

But you have to be careful because usually USPS does not delivery letters if someone's name is not on the mailbox. That has happened to me several times.
