I just came out of my infopass appointment and I was so glad to hear I was approved on August 21st!!! so less than a month from the uscis received date of August 7!!

I wanted to hug the officer when he said that but he wasnt all that excited about the news:lol:

I couldnt update my address (which is the reason why I made the appointment) so I still have to deal with the uscis hot line to get that fixed and actually receive my NOA in the mail..But now that I have my reference number Im expecting things to be easier... wish me luck!!

Hi all,

Here is a timeline for my J1 waiver. I have broken up the process into two. The first part is the timelines for getting No Obligation to Return to India (NORI). Getting the NORI certificates from the state government took the longest time.

Its been a long journey. I will probably frame the USCIS J1 waiver and hang it my living room.

Anyone know if changing my address would delay the DOS processing?

I am able to pickup my mail at the other address, but would be a lot easier if I updated my address.

Thanks!

A

It will not delay the processing. You should still check online and the old address, because they might send it to the old one even if you change the address (cover all basis).

By the way, in general people use the USPS move service that for 1 dollar they send all your mail to your new address. I don't know if it delays mail considering you can pick it up at your old place.
