Hi,

A couple of things we need to know. How old is the daughter? And how old was the daughter when you and your husband got married? If the daughter is an adult is she married? If the daughter is  minor does her mother give permission to migrate to US?

JA does not have an online passport process. There are some prep work you will have to do in JA before u file. Is the father's name on BC? Mom has to give permission to migrate. Letter from JP will be OK. You have to apply for passport in JA.

Good afternoon,

I am in a similar situation as you step daugther exept that I am an unmarried adult. It is important for the fathers' name to be on the childs birth certificate and he can show a ligitimate father/daughter relationship through means of photos, remittance receipts etc.

Process is almost the same as a spouse. I-130 to DS-260 and I-864.  Better for the USC to petition (faster.)  However as mentioned make sure you have parental permission, she needs travel docs obviously, and there may be some requirement to prove he is the father (even if he is on the birth certificate.)

she have 14y

Green card until one of her parents (aka you) naturalizes.  If you naturalize before she turns 18 she will naturalize with you.

I am doing the same process for my step-daughter who is 17 (was 16 when I applied). Sent I 130 overnight to Phoenix lockbox on Aug 22, 2016 and on Aug 26, 2016 I received a email confirmation that they had received the I 130 and rerouted it to Nebraska Service Center for processing. Received the I 797 a few days later in the mail. My step-daughter has a 10 year visitors visa to the US but she wants the opportunity to study in the US. I am a US citizen and my spouse is LPR. My spouse travels a lot for his job so he has not started his Naturalization process so that is why I petitioned for my step-daughter. I have not received any response since I received the I 797. Is this normal? I realize I just passed the 5 month mark but I am starting to get concerned.  Thank you in advance for any thoughts/encouragement...

You case was forwarded to the national visa center after getting approved by uscis so you need to call the national visa center to find out if they received your case and whether or not they've assigned a case number

Let me correct a little, she won't naturalize with you but she will derive the citizenship from you. After you naturalize you can get a US passport for the child if you have enough evidences to prove legal and physical custody OR/and you can file n-600 for a certificate of citizenship which you  will have to support with the same evidences.
