6 Dead in Quebec Terrorist Attack on Mosque

(Reuters) - Six people were killed and eight wounded when gunmen opened fire at a Quebec City mosque during Sunday night prayers, in what Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called a "terrorist attack on Muslims".

Police said two suspects had been arrested, but gave no details about them or what prompted the attack.

Initially, the mosque president said five people were killed and a witness said up to three gunmen had fired on about 40 people inside the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Centre. Police said only two people were involved in the attack.

"Six people are confirmed dead - they range in age from 35 to about 70," Quebec provincial police spokeswoman Christine Coulombe told reporters, adding eight people were wounded and 39 were unharmed.

Haven't heard anything from Trump.  The Canadian PM immediately called it terrorism, and I guess he is correct.  It is a sad thing that happened as people were practicing their religious freedom.  I think it is too early to decide on the motive and the coverage.  As with every sad story it is much better to wait for a more complete story.

why do i need to wait? what am i  supposed to do when i have more info? it's an act of terror yes, i think that's pretty clear.

Not so much.  Canadian news usually waits for all of the facts and is very guarded.  The same thing as when the attack on parliament hill happened a few years ago.

how unfortunate that trump's eo only incites further violence and hatred toward muslims. but i'm sure he's proud of himself for making the phone call like a big boi.

Trump has now banned all Canadians from entering the US until he figures this out.
