Hey everyone, this is my first post here so I'm not sure if this is the right forum. Hopefully you all can help or at least point me into the right direction.

I'm currently visiting my boyfriend in the US from Canada on a visitor visa. I arrived back in early December and had planned to stay one month as this is our first time meeting after knowing each other 8 years. After a couple of weeks we knew this is it for us and wanted to spend our lives together so we decided to extend my visit and cancel my return tickets.

To cut to the chase, after years of long distance we want to get married. Ideally I would love to do this and then be able to stay here without having to return to Canada due to financial reasons (my unemployment and having nowhere to live upon my return aka I'd be living off kindness of family and friends).

What is our best course of action? Get married then file for AOS? Return to Canada to file for a CR-1? He's active duty Air Force if that opens up and option that I may not know of.
