Yes. It will follow you academically forever, and it will be on your immigration record. Those are not tied to your visa, they're tied to you.

Your immigration history follows you, not a visa or a passport. Applying for a new visa, or a new passport, or changing your name, won't get rid of your past immigration history.

When you do anything, any school, publication, etc, will research you, the person, not the immigration record.  They will come across this issue.  You will be scrutinized.

Each time you apply for a visa of any kind basically you will be asked about previous visas, travel, all that. The system will show it. So it will continue to follow you and you will have to answer them honestly about what happened. It is a huge red flag and most likely even if another school accepted you, you would not be approved for another F-1 visa. Kind of like, you had your chance, now it's someone else's turn.

This will always be on file for you and won't disappear.

Yes.  You were dismissed from school for plagiarism and misrepresentation on your application.  This is a very serious thing.  This isn't just cheating in school, this is cheating and lying to get INTO the school.

Probably but likely it may still show up.  After all you have a published work containing plagiarism.

This is not a country-specific issue. It is what you have done, in general, that goes against good and proper academic practice. Your best bet is to come clean from the beginning to any institution that you file at in the future, US or not. What you did is not illegal in itself, and would not be grounds for having a visa application rejected, but it's more likely that a school will have reservations about sponsoring you for such a visa in the first place.

It happens all the time that visas are cancelled early; I myself had a J1 visa cancelled so I could switch to an F1. But my reason for switching was legitimate and in good faith. Your reason may not be, which is why you'll likely have a harder time finding a new visa.

You will be lucky for any renowned school any where in the world to accept you.

Plagiarism in academia is like an incurable disease that you can't dissociate yourself from the moment you are linked to it.

Everyone in academia views you with suspicion.

If i were you, I would start by cleaning up from where it started. Right a rejoinder (not sure if it is the appropriate word), to correctly cite your sources in the publication. At least it will show any prospective school that you owned up to the problem and took steps to make up.

Ignoring it means you don't care..

This is will come up in any future immigration process because, what you did, in immigration terms , is lying. which is misrepresentation.

Greetings,

Was there a formal investigation into your publication?

When you were removed from the Master's programme, did you update your I-20 while in country before your departure?

So what we know is SEVIS is there to allow both Homeland Security and other schools to share information. If you are so fortunate as to find another accredited  school that will accept and work with your history, you could apply for another student visa. It does not mean it will be approved.

However with that said, note that they will have your academic and immigration history - do not mislead anyone. Both school and immigration will have a say in this endeavor and trying will certainly give you the best answers to your questions. Just be prepared for denial and hope for the best.

I am not sure if other countries would have access  or can make a request through SEVIS - you might want to look into such things beings asked of you if you choose to study somewhere else.

So will this immigration history affect my studies and probable employment in States in a negative way? Yes, it will be on your record. If I were a reputable school or company, I'd prefer the person you cheated from, since his\her work was original, over someone who plagiarized.

This is a very serious charge and it will follow you everywhere in US.

Also, you are not telling the whole issue here, Plagiarism is a serious charge, but till the point your whole application tipped into your favor because of that project paper, it being the sole reason for you being kicked out of the university is unlikely.

Did you fake other things like your degree or you GPA in undergraduate education ? I have even heard of people editing their TOFEL/GRE scores in Photoshop. You don't have to disclose if you did something like this on this forum, if you did, don't bother to apply again in the US, because no university will accept you now.

If it was indeed due to the plagiarism on 1 paper, you could try your luck with some other school (being upfront about the reason why you were terminated), but be ready to be rejected in most probability.

As far as options go, the only option is to stop adding to your profile whatever is illegitimate and study in your home country or other country.
