After I-129F, what's next?

The initial application packet is complete, except I am waiting to receive his hand signed bio form and statement of intent (yay!) I am super organized and like having everything planned out, so I'm already looking ahead to the next step. I understand that once I submit the packet, I will receive notification that it was received. What happens next? I know there is the medical examination, interview and such, but at what point do I need to send my fiance my financial information? When does he schedule his interview appointment?

My fiance is in Delhi, India. Anyone here also have a fiance in India? Any advice? Stories?

Thanks in advance!

ps: while your petition is sent to the Texas lockbox, it won't be dealt at the Texas service center, be careful to change that when you receive your receipt notice or else your timeline prediction will be inaccurate

You send your fiance your financial info after you receive NOA2.  A word to the wise, though, there's no rush to send this info right away.  I'm a super-planner too and started filling out the affidavit of support of financial documents in September, NOA2 in October, I sent them two days after NOA2, they arrived about two weeks later.  They don't ask for financial documents until his interview, and interviews usually are 3-4 months after NOA2.

My fiance's was January 20 and he came to them with financial documents from October.  My job situation could have very well changed in those few months, or the interviewer might have been suspicious or put him in administrative review until I sent more up to date documentation.  Luckily that didn't happen, but if I could do it over again I think I'd wait a little while longer before sending that information, just to put my mind at ease.

Good luck!

Thank you for that tip! I would be tempted to send him all those forms as soon as I receive the NOA2 haha! I hear that the New Delhi embassy has a long wait time for interviews, so I need to slow down and be patient :)

While you are waiting, might I suggest looking into the regional forums and reviews to see if New Delhi has any specific requirements.

After sending the petition you can focus on what they want.
