Where do we go to translate legal documents like the Koseki Tohon and divorce decree? I'm looking for companies in Tokyo but can't really find much. Everything I see wants documents sent in online. How do I know to trust these companies? Where have some of you done this? If you did it online where would you recommend so I know it is a trustworthy company with translations and certificates the USEM will accept? Thank you.

We used the us embassy templates as a reference and made out own.

Since the our koseki tohon contained a lot more information than the us embassy template, we added extra lines to match our koseki tohon's format.  My wife is Japanese and did the translation and signed it. I believe the Embassy and Consulate can also notarize it for $50 usd, far cheaper than what the japanese notaries wanted to charge us.
