Hello and thank all of you!

I am 43 years old and my son is a USC born and raised. He was born in wedlock. He´s now 23 years old. I lived in the US from 91 to 93 and got a Green Card because my stepfather got a sponsored job there. My mother, stepfather and sisters are all USC now. My son wants to make a petition for me since I let my green card expire many years ago.

Can I enter the US on visa waiver and ask to change my status while on it? Or can that hurt my petition?  If this petition is approved can I work there while in process?

There are lawyers who have set a fee of about 5,000 dls to take this case. Do I need a lawyer for it or is it fairly simple?

hi

that is visa fraud to come to the us with your visa waiver and adjust status

he can file for you, the process will take close to a year.

since you had a GC on the forms you must always put your A# or GC number on the forms, the number is for life, and if you have a social security number that is for life also, so you list it wherever the forms ask for it

Thank you guys! See this:

"People who belong to visa waiver countries can travel to the United States without visas but they can stay in the country only for a 90 day period. According to the new policy, those who enter into the United States under the VWP can now adjust their status to permanent resident status if they are immediate relatives of US citizens. This new policy was issued a day before the Obama administration issued a policy to permit the immediate relatives of veterans and the members of the US armed forces, who are undocumented, to remain in the country".

Is that not true or changed again with Trump? Is there a catch?

People on VWP who already in the US can AOS through qualifying relatives.

Planning to enter the US on VWP is fraud. The proper way to do it is as you stated that your son petitions for you. You can certainly visit during your process also.
