Passport validity period after moving on K1

Hey,

My Israeli passport has around 3 more years of validity to it.

I am 1 week before my interview, expecting to be approved and move to the US in a few months.

Should I consider renewing my Israeli passport before I move? Does it matter for AOS if it is a different passport # than before, or does it make no difference since it's all brand new forms?

(Needless to say I plan on visiting my homeland several times a year, so I need to have a passport)

Please advise,

Thanks!

Passports numbers change, USCIS is aware of that and has no problem with it. You might want to get a new one before leaving, depending how easy it is to get a new one once settled in the US.

Changing a passport during a petition is no problem either (keep the old one just in case). I changed mine a week before the interview and no one cared.

Thank you for your answer.

Did you have to notify anyone about your passport change, or did you just arrive at the interview with both of them?

I think i'll get one before I leave like you suggested.

I just brought both of them. And told the officer I changed passports recently. He thought it was a smart move and just checked the number of the old one against the paperwork.

My passport is expiring on May 2018.. it's a year from now. I already have my nvc number and ready to schedule my interview. Would

it be best to renew my passport before the interview or can i do it after the interview? Or is it possible to renew it in the US? Planning to leave by August..
