Strongmyk: yes that's so unfortunate someone can just assume that however Im aware the rate is high of individuals who gain this time type of visa and don't returning .  Thanks for your input

Boiler : Yes you're right to a certain degree regardless I would be returning to Ghana if he's not granted a visa . We made that decision some days ago

ice: Yes this is the first time my husband is requesting a visa. I feel secure with revealing some background info without the name attach, that's my right. His show is based in Ghana NOT USA . Unfortunately my parents aren't able to travel due to their illness which included my dad being wheel chair bound for the rest of his life. No he has no plans of with holding info of us being married and me living in the US that's the whole reason for him traveling here for the 2 week requested visit . The last say is in God hands . If approved great, if not then as it is ..so it will be . I'll see him in three weeks

The way you describe the situation with him being a know entity in his country and your situation here is why he is the one emigrating. That may confuse the Consulate.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I'm hoping I'm deciphering what you're stating Boiler correctly . I'm a USC and he's lived in Ghana his whole life . We have plans to live together( whether he moves to US or I move to Ghana)  in 2 years however we selected that time frame due to the obligations we have where we live . I will like him to meet my family personally and be in my environment also meeting my close love ones . I would hate to have to wait two years for my family to get a chance also my birthday is coming up however that's not the main reason for his requested presence what I stated above is. What would confuse the CO Boiler ?

remember he's requesting a 2 week stay with my family and I . NOT asking to live her permanently

Sorry, got confused, I thought you had applied for him to immigrate to the US.

Getting a tourist visa in Ghana is really difficult. The approval rate is really low. According to the "Adjusted Refusal Rate - B-Visa only by nationality, for the year 2016", the approval rate for Ghana is like 30%. The embassy/COs doesn't really believe most of the applicant due to the numerous lies and fake documents old applicants have told and brought to them. I went through the system and I can tell its a pain. All the same I will say he go and try and be as honest as possible. The numbers are not in his favor but hopefully the CO recognizes him  and gives him the visa.

Thank you Jarta for the info . All he can do is gave his documents intact , but mostly be honest . I hope the COs recognize his true intentions which is a short visit and return within the 2 weeks . I'll keep this board inform next week when the interview takes place .

So will this be the first time your "public" figure husband is going for visa interview?

Like Caykay1 told before, nothing is guaranteed.

As someone who wants to remain private, you have quite a lot of detail to give about this "public figure" but not a name? *shrug* public figure with DIY wife *shrug*

For example:

Lil Win has been coming and going for quite sometime now. His career is booming and he wouldn't have a life here. He shooting a movie every other week, so someone like that can get a visa due to his strong ties back home.

That was just an example.

Now, a 100K does not equal strong ties. But if he has things going on for him then he has a shot.

Couldn't he meet your family when he comes for his show in the summer?

my last 2 advice to you:

1. He better not lie about been married

2. He better not lie about been married to a US citizen

The interview is about him and what he is coming to do and what will make him return to Ghana after his visit. if he has any track record for travelling outside Ghana, he should have it at the interview.

good luck!

I hate to sound negative but having an American wife is a No no. I was in a serious car accident couple  years ago and only  had my father who was 32 hours drive away. My husband applied for a visa with all my doctor's notes and letters and he was refused because he had an American wife. They told him there are plenty nurses and aides around to help me. If I needed a 24hr care, the hospital will provide me. Last year, my husband applied again for my graduation which I had no one to come with me. I thought it was a huge accomplishment since I worked and paid off my tuition myself. I provided statements for  recent classes I took the previous year 8 classes and which I paid almost 11k for it myself. We thought they will think that was a huge accomplishment on my part and called for a celebration but he was refused again. I ended up not going for my graduation because I was so sad I didn't have family to cheer me on whiles I walk across that stage. I've heard stories upon stories but having an American spouse and going for a tourist visa in Ghana is a no no. Well, to each his or her own. Good luck to them.

I am sorry to hear that he was denied! When people with genuine and good reason to visit a love one are denied, I blame the fact that most Ghanaian who go for an interview lie and so the COs at the embassy are always skeptical about whatever we tell them. I hope our economy gets better and most of all get a good reputation. We need to improve our image. Innocent people are suffering because of our lies!!!

Yes when my husband and I were dating we never knew it would be hard for us to get him here ( in the US) . However GOD has the last say ,I know that sounds cliche but it's true . My marriage even hit a rough spot because we felt defeated but I will never leave my husband for something that is out of  his control. Eventually we will file for a spouse visa however in the meantime I will continue to go see him , we will continue to communicate EVERYDAY and travel to places that he's allowed to travel to.  Blessings to all wives and husbands on the feed

Exactly.... it takes a lot of sacrifice when it comes to distance marriage or relationship. I traveled to Ghana 6 times from 2012 to 2016.  I had to leave good jobs because they only allowed 2 weeks vacation in a year.  Good luck and I hope everything goes well for you guys.
