Bringing the mother-in-law over for a visit

I'm inquiring for a friend. My friend is here on a K-3 visa (from China), receiving her greencard very soon via mail. She wants her mother to come over from Mainland China for a visit, not to stay but just to visit.

What process is involved in getting a visa to visit the United States from Mainland China and what is the cost?

i wouldnt know about china but why dont you go to the embassey info above and click on the china embassey website..

there are two chinese embassey's ...all info for tourist visa's are on the u.s. china consulate websites..

The instructions are on the Consulate Web site. Look under B2 Visa. No point duplicating it here.

It is not your friend that applies, but her mother. If her Mother can not fund her trip, she should consider providing a I-134, much better if her Mother can show sufficient resource.

Usual comments apply about substantiating non immigrant intent, ties to China, Job, Property Family etc.
