AOS still needs to see a Civil Surgeon?

So i am reading that a lot of people are getting RFEs just because they dint asked a civil surgeon to transcribe their I-693. Do i really need to see a CS before submitting my AOS docs or is it ok not to since they already checked the portion for US vaccination requirements COMPLETE?

Who filled out that form for you? To my knowledge if the doctor isn't a civil surgeon they can't fill out an I-693.

About your question though, yes, you do need to see a civil surgeon. (Exceptions are listed on the instructions for the form, read carefully) It's not just vaccine requirements, there's a physical exam that needs to be completed as well. Quite a personal one might I add... *cough* It was a rather awkward experience for me at least...

My (then) fiancee also had his DS-2035 Vaccination Documentation Worksheet marked as US vaccination requirements COMPLETE, but he had his medical exam before flu season began.  When he applied for AOS it was flu season, so he was required to see a civil surgeon and get a flu shot, and he had his vaccination record transcribed to the I-693.  It cost an extra $200, but he did it just to be on the safe side.

Technically, if your medical exam was within one year of your AOS application (check the Exam Date on your DS-2035), if you apply for AOS outside of flu season, and if your DS-2035 indicates you have completed all vaccinations, you do not need to see a civil surgeon, nor do you need to submit form I-693.  If you choose to go that route USCIS should already have the copy of DS-2035 that was included in the medical packet, but I would include a copy in my AOS packet just in case they lost it.  I would also suggest including a note stating you are not including form I-693 because a K-1 does not require ait if all vaccinations were completed at the medical exam.

The risk is that the person who reviews your case isn't aware of the requirements and will issue an RFE for the I-693, which will add time to the process for approving your application.

Good luck in your journey!

From what I've read on various threads here in my searches, if you are up to date on all your vaccinations with the DS-3025 and it has the check in the box saying US Vaccinations are Complete, you should be alright supplying that information for AOS and will not require an I-693.

Some people do get RFE's for submitting the DS-3025 only, but I think it's due to either being incomplete (a box wasn't checked for example by the doctor) or it has expired (been longer than a year since medical abroad was done). Some people regardless, obtain an I-693 and include both forms to be extra safe. If you are missing vaccinations you'd need to obtain an I-693 so you can get the required vaccinations and be documented as being up to U.S medical standards.

I would also go with ddtenor2's suggestion about including a note saying why you didn't get an I-693 if you submit the DS-3025 to be even more safe. Worst case, as they also mentioned, an RFE adds more time on to the processing of AOS, but it is not a denial. You will just have to get a I-693 and re-submit it to USCIS.
