Cutting passphoto's and other details

So, my wife and I got some passphoto's from a booth, classic glossy paper and white background. Now, the photos

came in one paper with 4 copies of each of us.

Question I: Do the photos have to be an excact size, and are USCIS very picky there? I tried cutting them with scissors, but that didnt work out very well... So I'm

planning to use one of those cutters they have in offices.

To sum up:

Which size should I cut, and should I leave some extra white space?

Question II:

On the i-130 form part "E", there is a slot top put in the petitioners phone number. We both live in Norway so we don't have an American phone number.

The slot doesn't let me put in the phone number format of my country. Should I print it and then type my wife's Norwegian number, or write one of our

family member's in America's phone number there?

Thanks :)

The photos you get from a booth are usually not acceptable; the I-130 instructions are very specific on this.  What you are trying to do in this regard will not be accepted and you will be issued an RFE for proper passport photos that you have done at places that advertise it.

For the phone number, input the number that is currently yours on the date that you sign the form.

Are you saying that because they are generally not the correct size? Or because of the photo paper? It looks just fine in my eyes, but I'd of course rather pay the extra money and do it with a proper photographer... just wondering

I had my passport photos professionally taken. Note the size of the photos, the US passport photo size is different from the ones in Canada anyway. From there, I made copies of these photos at a photo kiosk (4 on a 4x6), and cut them out to match the appropriate size. You're going to need lots of them (I needed 11, 6 for forms and 5 for the medical). I used the photos from the passport photographer for USCIS, and the copies for my doctor's visit. All went well.

In the US, the passport photo size is different. You need to go to a professional photographer and tell him you need passport style photos for a US visa. He'll fix it so it's the right size and style.

So, I went to a local photographer, and he claimed he understood how an American passport photo

should be taken. On this page https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/photos/photos.html it clearly says that the picture must be

2x2 inches (51x51mm)  and that the face size should be between 1 -1 3/8 inches (25 - 35 mm).

He cut it somewhat uneven, but the width and height is about 2x2 inches. He made our faces too big. Do you think that is a problem? Should I accept that?

I've attached the photo of myself

Looks ok. I would go with it. They're not that nit picky. Or at least they weren't with our case. :)

Ughhh I'm so going to get an RFE for this!! <_< I stupidly saw "passport style photos" and thought, "hey, no big deal! They're just passport style..." Got my photo taken at a UK photo booth and chose the US visa style specifically but didn't actually think to measure it when I cut it out... D'oh! Should have gone to an actual person and got it done properly. That'll teach me. :bonk:

Very true! I don't know yet... But definitely a little worried that something so simple could delay the process! I can't even remember what it looked like when I sent it off, I think I left a little white margin around it. Really didn't think at all to measure it properly. Oh well! Time will tell
