Okay so it sounds like they are letting some green card holders from the banned countries back in, but they have to go through a waiver process and it's one by one. DO NOT LEAVE THE US if you are a green card holder, it sounds like this is just for stranded green card holders and is not automatic in any way, if you leave the US you are risking being able to live here even if you hold a green card. Also I think anyone trying to get to the US on a visa from those countries is out of luck, as this sounds like it's just for green card holders.

It would be very strange if this only lasted for 90 days - 90 days won't make any diference what so ever. They must have other plans than just this.

The ones I'm really wondering about are people who were visiting a country other than their country of origin. They might not have enough ties to their country of origin to go there (remember the countries on this list often refuse to take back people), and if they were just visiting a country they likely wouldn't be able to go back to where they are visiting. So what happens then, are we just going to jail these people who are in all other ways US citizens and did nothing wrong?

This is terrible for all LPRs. What if an emergency happens in their home country before they can get citizenship? They will have to skip their loved ones funeral or risk being unable to return? What about those whose home countries don't allow dual citizenship and  are long-term permanent residents?

this whole thing today seems INSANE....I feel like I'm living on another planet right now just trying to comprehend how this country's government is letting this happen.  The next couple of days will be very interesting to see if he backslides on any of his bans, especially current LPRs.

No, I think, if you are from those countries that are banned then you cannot enter USA

Only from certain countries, the list is easy to find.

The person is not spreading false info, just asking or clarifying, because everyone is scared . No one knows what this crazy Trump will do next

The ACLU has just apparently won a stay. I don't know if it's only for NY, or nationwide.

 

Edit: according to the Director, the stay is national!

It's probably to give HLS time to develop a more extreme vetting system.

At least it lets green card holders and valid visa holders back in for now. But they can't enforce new visas to citizens of those countries to be issued

Swedish media says that it could be around 200 people that get to stay in the US temporary, people who were detained at US airports. Not sure what they mean by temporary, I assume someof those 200 ppl must been immigrant visa holders and greencard holders, so why temporary?
