I got my first green card also (unconditional green card) in 2009. Got 10 years green card in 2014. Total time span 7 years. We are still married but living separately as our marriage couldn't work out and I moved out in late 2014. Since she wanted a divorce so I asked her to apply yourself because I never wanted to abandon this relationship and whenever I get paperwork from you I will sign and return them to you. But she never filed fir it nor ever asked me to file. We are still married but living separately for 2 years now. Now I have decided to apply for citizenship. Question? Can I apply citizenship on my own or do I need her?. I heard when you get 10 year green card and you get divorced after, you can apply for citizenship on your own, without having her, how true is this. Since we have been living separately  (no court paperwork involved nor any order from the court). What docs do I need for citizenship that we still married but living separately since we decided to live separately without going to court to file for separation. Also please list all docs I would need in support of my application. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

We are living separately, is there any column in the form where I can mention that? Does USCIS really do care at this point that what happened to the relationship or would they ask questions about marriage life? Sorry I'm just a new guy and trying to educate myself for citizenship process. Question can I file for citizenship on my own or I still need her on this?

You can file for citizenship on your own based on the 5 year rule. You do not need your ex-wife as you have been a PR for 5 years. USCIS will not care whether you are living together or not as you are applying based on marriage. At the same time you guys are still married so mention on the application that you are married, but again your filing is based on you being a PR for 5 years and not the 3 year marriage rule.

They ask for your marital status, seperated is one of the options. You have your GC for over 5 years, you have the right to apply for Citizenship. Your marital status does not matter anymore...

No problem. That is what this forum is for. If you go to uscis.gov and search N-400 you will get all the documents you need or you can look at the N-400 guide here on visajourney.
