Just found out that my I-129F approval is going to expire in around 2 weeks and I still haven't gone to the medical or interview, was approved on the 13th of october 2016, I received it on the 2nd of december 2017, I had already booked a flight to go and see my fiancee for christmas before even knowing that it had been approved, I visited her for a month and have just got home and now found out the expiry of my I-129F and I have no time to get everything done as I have just applied for my medical records which can take 2 weeks also, I read that I can extend my approval by another 4 months and wondered if anyone had ever tried to get an extension and what the likelihood of getting it was, my fiancee is a US citizen from Georgia and I'm from the UK.

Is there a particular reason you applied for medical records? It is not a requirement. All you need is evidence of receiving the required vaccinations and your police certificate. Anything additional would be case specific - such as a letter from your GP detailing if you have a chronic medical condition, or if you have had any past issues with depression/selfharm/psychological issues in the past, a letter from your GP stating you are not a threat to yourself or others. Your petition will be automatically extended at the embassy level. But I would suggest if you have no reason to wait or delay, to get your medical done as soon as possible.

You can contact the embassy and ask for more time.

But note, that usually by at least scheduling the interview and medical will extend the period because you'll be in waiting for the interview.

Also, you don't need medical records, just vaccination records.

Don't wait to get all of your stuff, schedule the interview as far out as needed and then collect everything. I know some Packets will say to send back all the info once you have it in hand, but as far as I've seen none of the consulates actually check if you have it in hand at that time because it's brought to them by you for the interview, not before hand.

I messaged my embassy and they said that if my visa interview date is past the expiry of my I-129F approval that I'd just have to get another intent to marry letter from my fianceé and bring it to the visa interview and it would be fine, also for the medical it's listed in the things you need to bring with you on the day, I even phoned up about it and asked as it isn't listed anywhere, the only way how I found out about it was when I actually scheduled a medical and then it was listed.

The Knightsbridge employee is lying to you, I promise. The information of what you need to bring is listed on the Knightsbridge website. http://www.visamedicals.info/us-bring.asp What do you need to do for your medical? Please read the following thread about the process carefully, it's usually a big help.

Okay well this is very helpful thank you, I was planning on making a medical appointment on monday for 2 weeks time but I don't know if my mind will be at ease if I don't get the medical records as I can't know for sure.

also " Medical reports of any past or current illnesses including psychiatric. If there is any history of TB or tuberculosis contact, please obtain old records, including investigation and treatment details " is stated on knightsbridge website for things to bring, the only condition I have is asthma
