Hi there,

We started out with the lawyers as well, however when it came to AOS they suddenly got super super expensive. Because of this site, I was already ahead of the ball when it came to the lawyers, but my partner really didn't want to let them go because it was peace of mind. They did a good job, and everything has been fine thus far, but you can drop them at any time for any future filings. The moment they wanted $2100 on top of the $1070 AOS filing fee ($3170 total) we dropped them and did the AOS ourselves and have been completely fine so far!

We hired a lawyer for our K1 ($1700...) it was before I even knew VJ existed. After they filed all the paperwork, I did the rest of the process myself because they too would often spell things wrong and give bad advice.

We are doing the AOS ourselves now and I'm glad we didn't use an attorney. They wanted another $3000 to do it :0

I initially used a lawyer for my K-1. They gave me the geographic form to have my fiance sign when I went to see her in December 2016. When they first gave it to me it had spelling errors all over the place including incorrectly spelling the word "Japan". I had them fix the errors and give me new copies before I left to see her (What are they being paid for again?). To make a long story short, I came back at the end of the month, only needed to give them the signed forms and some of our pictures but couldn't fit me into their schedule to actually meet with them until 2 weeks later....... I finally meet with them and finish everything. They tell me multiple times before I leave that everything would be sent out by the middle of the following week (The week of Jan 9th 2017). Jan 14th rolls around so I decide to call them and they said they just sent it out Jan 13th....  I check these forums where the rest of the Jan 2017 filers are getting their NOA1 in around 8-9 days or less, it has now been 10 days and I called them again only for them to tell me they just sent it out Jan 20th. ... I was livid when I heard that.

So here I am and want to know if there should be any problem with continuing the process without them. I know on my paperwork they sent out they added their own details as well for anything like the receipt to be mailed to them as well as me. I just want to handle the rest of the process without any lawyer now as I was advised to do by multiple family members from the start. I already paid these jackals $1200

YOU'RE FIRED!
