I'm brand new here and have been going through the k-1 fiance visa petition process for a couple of weeks trying to get every thing in order, so i'm sorry if this has been asked or answered but I haven't been able to find anything.

Under "Applicants residence last five years" Neither my fiance nor I remember what month we moved into our homes, should we just leave it blank or will that look bad? My fiance doesn't remember the year either.

My fiance also wants to know if you have to write the time you were unemployed, so if you didn't have a job for a period of time between schooling and the job are you supposed to write "unemployed" under occupations?

All answers are appreciated!!! thank you!!

If you cannot remember an approximate month then just put the year.  My then fiance could not remember exact month either.  We did our best to put a month very close to what we believed it to be

You do not have to write "unemployed"  for the times in between employment.  It only asks for employment dates.  They will figured out you were unemployed during the lapses.

I wrote "Unemployed" during the time(s) I was unemployed to keep things consistent.  The application says:

Applicant's employment last five years. (If none, so state.) List present employment first.

My then fiancé had gaps in his employment history. We did not write unemployed in between the gaps, we simply listed the places and dates that he was employed. If you've already done it that way I guess it will be fine but it's really not necessary.  They're not asking for an accounting of everyday of the last five years.  They're simply asking what employment was held in the last five years
