I believe there a few of us here whose CEAC status shows Ready for interview yet no call in letter for packet 3 or 4. I have been waiting for a call in letter for over two months now.  I received my NOA 2 on September 22nd. Is it advisable to fill DS-160, pay visa application fee and schedule your interview? Will the embassy be ready for your interview?  I tried paying the visa application fee at GT bank but the lady said I should be authorized by the embassy to pay first before I pay because others were turned away by the embassy because the receipts were not recognized. Has any member of VJ gone through the K1 process without receiving packet 3 and 4 ? Pls share how you went through successfully.

We received our NOA2 on Sept 15th. We never received any letters from the embassy. I tried contacting them multiple times but no response. My fiance paid the fee and filled the DS-160. He was able to schedule interview for Feb 28th. I emailed the embassy twice this month and still no response.

It is so frustrating, the other thing is that some cases with recent approvals have received their letters and scheduled their interviews. I dnt understand how it works. The first time we emailed them the response was that, our case has been received from the NVC but it is yet to me entered into their system. That was 7th December and since then nothing else. A number of people are in this situation and have scheduled their interview successfully so I guess I will do that. We pray it works out for us all.

If you schedule the interview and embassy did not send you the packets you will be turned back and have to pay and schedule again.

I don't know. Seems like the letter is just instructions. So hopefully no one gets turned away.

This whole thing need big time patience. Is hard to Waite I know  , but am sure there's a reason they tell you to get the letter first.  My fiance and I were in the same situation we got so faustratred and wanted to schedule ,  even though it's just instructions , we thought there had to be a reason they wanted us to get the letter before paying and all that . Anyway ,   I just hope if you guys did it before the letter you won't be turn down and pay all over again. On the other hand like someone said it can mean nothing . Just so your on the safe side I will advice you to Waite.

I feel like some of the cases like ours fell through the cracks when the embassy was transitioning from sending call in letters to sending instruction letters. It's been 3 and half months since our case reached the embassy and we still never recieved anything and the embassy hasn't responded to any of our emails since December 6th.

Be patient, they will eventually contact you. It's advisable to check your mailboxes both in Ghana and USA and your junk mail regularly. No petition ever gets lost I believe. Its just the process and the review time. 3,5 months is not a lot compared to other cases that stayed at the embassy for over 8 months.

So I emailed the embassy again on Thursday asking for clear instructions about the process. I asked if we should wait for a Call in letter or and Instruction letter. I also CC'ed the American Citizens email and I received a response this morning and it says the following:

"Please note, the K-1 Visa process has recently changed. Applicants may now schedule their own interviews by visiting, www.USTravelDocs.gov.

Thank you

Consular Section

U.S. Embassy – Accra, Ghana"

Not the clear list of instructions I was hoping they would send but this is a bit reassuring to me. I really do believe that our letters got lost somewhere when they were transitioning.

I 'checked on their website and they said when your case is ready for interview they will email or call the petitioner. The state that do not pay the visa application fee until you have heard from the concerning the status of your case. Did you state in your mail that you wanted to enquire about the status of your case? If you had you would have know if the have sent you that mail or not.

I told them that I have already scheduled my interview and wanted to be sure that I wasn't skipping any steps. I asked for detailed instructions and also if I should be waiting for a letter in the mail. And I recieved that simple one line statement.

I wonder how long they were working on this transition. Bc in September I had thought you could schedule online based on the information I was reading on all the govt websites. I even made a post about but was told to wait for a call in letter

I received the same response from an embassy representative at the (703) 520-2573 number provided for "help" on the ceac website. I was very candid about whether or not we truly needed the packet 3 before scheduling the interview and he said Ghana has recently changed the format of scheduling but that I should wait for the packet for formal instructions. I'm like what FORMAL INSTRUCTIONS? lol and he said information on what to bring to the interview, how to prepare, where to have the medical, etc. (basically ALL info that I've learned from VJ or general internet searching).
