The formal requirement is having met in person once in the last two years. But, that will not be enough for many consulates to approve the visa. So, it strongly depends where you're from and what other circumstances you have.

The requirement to file i-129f is to have met at least once within the last two years. For the K-1 visa however, you might want to have more visits with each other since the embassy in Nigeria is so tough to be approved at.

It also depends on the length of the visit. Nigeria is a country that you should have a good amount of FaceTime and relationship evidence frontloaded with the petition.

Only once in the past 2 years as of when you file. But, as others noted, Nigeria is a high fraud country so they are much more stringent on proving bona fide relationship. Generally, that means much more face time is necessary than normal to convince the CO.

Minimum visit is one. It is really helpful to have at least 2 visits in many consulates. 2nd visit can also be great for engagement....which normally helps your case.

Yes atleast once. I visited 4 times in 17 months. Once befor filing petition and 3 times after. The last times was to be with her at interview. We filed copies of itineraries, hotels receipts ( showing places we went while I was there with pics). Its all about showing its real. Not scripted. If once is all you can do,,,, make the most of it.  Just having a great time together we even had pics of me, her, Us with her family friends and coworkers

Since Nigeria seems to be a difficult embassy, you'd probably want to have a good amount of visits under your belt to prevent the likelihood of being denied a visa. Maybe aim for at least 4 visits for at least a couple weeks, if possible? Proof of meeting family, friends, etc. or proof of engagement during one of those visits would likely help your case if the embassy is skeptical of applicants due to fraud. Plus as someone else mentioned, you can always visit one another during the process once you've filed the I-129F application, which is great because you both get to be together more and it also adds more evidence for beneficiary to bring to the interview 

 

There are probably a lot of reviews on here for the embassy, so definitely start reading up on those! They'll help you prepare all your needed evidence and also help you rest easy since this whole process can be quite worrying/stressful. Best of luck!

2 - 3 visits i would suggest and your fine , but some have been approved on just one ,do what you can

Like everyone above suggests, depending on the country your beneficiary is processing through definately can help your case.

 

We only had one visit honestly; but for like any high fraud labeled country, definately more than one visit is strongly recommended.

At least two visits. My husband is in Senegal and my second visit was for three weeks. Obviously as someone else mention the more visits and front load evidence would help.

My wife visited only one time and spend one week in Nigeria and we are fine. I'm in The States now.

At least one in the last two years, but obviously more is better. My partner and I have visited each other 18 times since 2011 for a total of 6 months of in-person time with each other before we filed for K-1.
