Hi,

I am in the middle of my AOS process. My employer lawyers are reviewing the documents to send them ahead. I want to apply for my parent in law's tourist visa to come and visit US and my wife (who is on H4). I was wondering if there will be any problem in applying for their visitor visa when my AOS is in process? Should I wait for my green card to come and then apply for their tourist visa? Since I am from Pakistan, the queue is not so long and therefore we expect the green card to come within 5-6 months of applying for AOS

Does anybody know of any problems that can happen if I apply for their tourist visa while working with my AOS documents?

Please guide.

Thanks,

Aneel

First of all, YOU dont apply; THEY do.

Your AOS\GC|etc doesn't matter for your parents' or inlaws' B2.  They apply, fill out the ds160, and attend an interview where THEY have to satisfy the visa officer of their ties to pakistan.

Off topic.. you seem to have a rare hindu name for being from pakistan.

As mentioned, your status will not affect them,; they need to show they will return after their visit.

Thank you Kieren. Yes I am a non-muslim from Pakistan, that's why it sounds rare :)

One more question. Will it have any impact on my AOS process or green card process if my in law's apply for visit visa while I am in the middle of the AOS process? Just want to make sure my green card does not face any delays. Although I think it should not have any impact but just asking.

Thanks
