New Medical Exam Requested

In August I had my interview in Montreal. The agent told me I was conditionally approved. The only condition was that I had to find a sponsor in the US making a minimum annual income for the last 4 years (I-864) because my wife has always lived in Canada and had no US income. We were told as long as we did that within a year all other previous documents would still be sufficient. If we failed to do it within a year we would have to start our process all over again. In November we have submitted the I-864 and just received an email requesting another medical exam and another police check. My medical was only done in July (Medical appointments can only be scheduled once you have the interview scheduled) and my police check was done sometime in March 2016. I have no idea why they would be requesting these things other than to make it arduous for us. Is there any reason they would be requesting these a second time? Is there any recourse to show them at NVC that these things were done within the proper time frame and should be acceptable?

They request it just because something may of changed since your last interview.

 

They don't do anything to just make it hard on you and that's a bad way to look at it. On this visa journey you have to roll with the punchs.

 

Just do what they ask. They have a reason for it. Get to your loved one.

Medicals usually expire in 6 months (as you could get sick etc), hence you need a new one.

Police certs, it depends on the country.
