So I emailed the consulate all the necessary packet 3 information. I emailed last weekend (Jan 21 - saturday)

I got a response today with the opening paragraph:

This office has completed the review of the below-referenced immigrant visa case. You are now ready for an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal, where all interviews for immigration to the US from Canada are processed. This letter provides information on the next steps you must take to continue with your immigrant visa case.

I did a double flip with a twist at the fast response!!!!!!!!!!!! so..here's my question...there's nothing about packet 4 that I've been reading about in this forum. So before I jump in and do this stage should I wait for any paper work that's going to be sent to me? or just go ahead and schedule my medical, and my interview?

Thanks so much for your help you guys..I'm so close to this step to be with my fiance!!!! It's a scary yet exciting experience all at once!

First off: Please fill out your timeline! :)

You're in the long stretch now!

If you've got all your documents (chances are you have since you've submitted Packet 3 already, minus your medical), I'd go ahead with scheduling the medical and appointment. Double-check your documents against the Packet 4 instructions I believe on page 7. If you're missing anything, don't schedule just yet. Don't forget about the expiration of your NOA2, either!

Aside from booking the appointment (if I recall correctly), there's nothing further you need to send to the consulate and they won't be sending anything to you, either. You might need to pay the visa fee at this step, too, but you can always pay cash or credit card in person at the interview, too.

Hmm...the NOA expiration is worrying me. Do you know where I can find this?

The NOA expiration doesn't really matter for K1's, as the embassy will automatically revalidate it when they issue the visa. It will be listed on the visa "Petition valid until xx/xx/xx, revalid to yy/yy/yy".

The email you received is "Packet 4"; there will be no further paperwork received from the consulate. Follow the instructions in that email CLOSELY regarding how to schedule the interview and what documents to bring to the interview.

It's not the NOA expiration date its called the petition expiration date.  And you do have to be conscious of this expiration date as far as getting the DS160 completed and submitted and/or have at least received packet 3 from the embassy.  Once the NVC sends your case to the embassy you cannot just sit and do nothing or yes the petition will expire.  HOWEVER, as long you are moving through the step of preparing for and setting up interview the embassy will extend this date as needed.

hmmm ok so paid the fee, and printed out all the receipts and stuff...then I read this:

You must print this instruction page and bring it with you to your consular interview, along with the letter you received from the Consular Section.

I didn't get a letter. I just got an email from them. Do I print the email from them? not sure what they are referring to.

Yes print the email.  Print the packet 3 email too. Print the confirmation page for your interview date and pick up location.
