Need Vietnamese Birth Certificate

Hello I'm in urgent need to get my Vietnamese birth certificate because I recently got married to a USA citizen.

I'm from Australia and I have an Australian citizenship but I do not have my birth certificate from Vietnam. My family and I came to

Australia when I was really young. My parents never registered my birth so I know that I'm not in the records.

In order for me to stay in the states and apply for adjustment of status for my visa I need to get my birth certificate.

I don't have any relatives or friends in Vietnam to help me and my Vietnamese is not very good either.

I only have a month left before I have to go back to Australia. Has anyone been in this situation? Please help thanks a lot!

My wife had to get hers in person at the province where she was born.  Her parents died when she was very young and as such were never able to get her a birth certificate.  She ended up having to fill out many forms in the province of her birth, traveling back and forth three times.  She then got the forms approved by the government and had to take the form to the hospital where she was born.  The hospital looked up her birth record and verified same on the government documents.  My wife then went back to the government office and they issued her a birth certificate.  I can't imagine that anyone could get a legal birth certificate without going through this kind of procedure.  Good luck.
