Hi I applied for cr1 visa now I am waiting for interview appointment. Actually I been 8 years in Cyprus as a student but at the end I overstayed 5 month just to arrange something to go home. And I applied for a police clearance certificate but they sent me letter that although I don't have any criminal records and they are unable to give certificate cause of illegal overstaty. Which is in both language(the letter). Now I want to know may I need to show that letter to visa officer in interview(if they ask?) cause I didn't mention in ds 260 that I been in Cyprus although it was on my old passport which is I lost. Please can anyone  suggest me what to do.

Didn't you originally have to fill in information when you originally submitted for the CR-1 about previous places lived?

If so, they already know you have been to Cyprus, if you didn't, then you already have misrepresented yourself.

And if you did mention it in the original CR-1 paperwork, why would you not put it on the DS260 that you filled out?

And yes, if they ask, you need to give them the police report. In general the US does not care if you over stayed in another country (i don't believe); but they do care if you try to hide or lie about things.
