What's the problem exactly? That you didn't receive a letter confiming the transfer? Its not that important.

Also, the hotline persons answer to everything is to wait 30 days! My experience for example: "I was told 2 weeks to get my Green card and its been 8 weeks." Answer: "Oh, you'll have to wait another 30 days I'm afraid." me: "#######?"

I hate to disagree with you Dr_IHA, but it took 6 MONTHS for CSC to send me an email to tell me they had received my case. In between the so-called transfer and receiving, my case was never touched, I wasn't the only one (We were all in the same time period). Then all of a sudden they have it and it got approved a month later.

Unfortunately there is not much you can do about it. They will only 'look into it' once 180 days have passed since transfer.

2-28-2009 Sent in I-751

3-14-2009 Received I-751 back because they can't read

3-16-2009 Re-Sent I-751

3-17-2009 Received by Vermont

Waiting and watching the calendar flip ever so over closer to 4-2-2009 (When my 2 yr GC expires) . . .

4-2-2009 Received I-751 back AGAIN! Oh and my GC expired today.

4-3-2009 Re-Sent I-751

4-4-2009 Received by Vermont

4-6-2009 Date of NOA-1 Extension Letter (Rec'd 4/13/09)

4-10-2009 Check Cashed

4-24-2009 Date of Biometrics letter (Rec'd 4/30/09)

5-11-2009 Biometrics Appointment in Louisville.

So it got stuck behind a filing cabinet somewhere I guess!

CSC is horrible at sending NOA1s whenever they receive a petition. I called them over 2 weeks ago regarding mine and I still haven't received it. Many people have said that not receiving an NOA1 is not a big deal but I disagree. One of the reasons is that you might get the wrong receipt # from the back of your check (like I did, I was off by one digit) and the other reason is that by having that NOA1 in your hand, you can have physical evidence that they DO have it somewhere. I've read several posts of people where the service center just said "nope, we don't have it. File again". That's #######.

Call them once the 30 day period is up and they should be able to give you a receipt # at least.

I didn't think your case number changed when you were transferred to CSC, so you should already have the reciept number in your hand from your NOA1 from the MSC. Or am I wrong?

Nope. I think Mononoke is mixing up people who get transferred to CSC from MSC during AOS, with people who file forms directly to CSC, like I-130.

Thats what I thought, it would make no sense otherwise and USICS would be losing track of all kinds of things like that.

The other reason we're concerned is the mix-up with our case. We were sent an RFE, and then received email maybe a week later saying the case had been resumed - even though we hadn't sent anything in. That all happened in February. On the phone and at our InfoPass appointment we were told not to worry about it. We decided to get everything ready and send it anyway within the 87 days (after waiting a little to gather things and see what happens). Then our case was transferred in March. I guess we can send one copy to Chicago and one copy to California just to cover all of our bases. I'm just worried if our case is behind a filing cabinet somewhere or on a three legged donkey that our "RFE information" will get lost somewhere else and our case will be denied! I don't know - maybe I'll just photocopy EVERYTHING and send complete packets (original submission and all the RFE things) to both places? And enclose a long letter about why I'm doing that and what has happened with our case so far....
