QUESTION

We are a week out from our AOS interview and have we searched our entire place for the original documents (beneficiary's birth certificate, marriage license) from Costa Rica.  Did we give them to the Customs Officer when I entered the US?  If so, do they mail them back to us or will we receive them at our AOS interview?  What should we bring instead as getting the documents from Cost Rica may not be an option at this point?

BACKGROUND

After my interview in Costa Rica with the US Embassy for my 129F approval visa, they asked and kept my original documents.  They mailed my originals back in a yellow envelope with other documents that I was instructed not to open.  I was told to present the yellow envelope to the customs officer when I arrived in the US at the customs officer.  I presented them to the customs officer and was taken to a room to speak with another customs officer about my documents and visa.

After my interview to enter the US, I left the room and was not given back the documents in the envelope. I am currently adjusting my status from a K-3 visa to a permanent resident.

PLEASE HELP!!!
