Jamaican Step daughter to USA

My husband is a Jamaican, who has green card and we would like to bring his young daughter to the USA with us. Where do we start and how long is the process, please thanks.

Assuming she is under 18, the quickest is if you, as her USC step parent, file for her.  It will take about a year.

I am the step mother (US) and her father is green card holder yes her birth father. And she is 6 years of age. But thanks

You need to file an i-130 you can read more about form I-130 here: https://www.uscis.gov/i-130

the process usually takes about a year and you the USC (Step-mom) should file the petition.

The mother has to approve the child migrating, his name

must be on her birth-cert. & as others said its faster if toy

do the petition.

I'm going through the same process would I need an approval from the mother? The child is over 18

No 18 yr old is an adult also in Jamaica
