What needs notarized in Brazil?

I will drop my i129f into the mail this week for my girlfriend in Recife, Brazil.

I am looking ahead and need some help.

Do her two police reports need to be notarized in Brazil?  Notarized copy of the passport?  A notarized copy of her birth certificate?  I have read she is to bring an original or certified copy of the birth certificate.

We want to meet in Rio for the interview.  Regarding the medical exam, how fast are the results reported to the embassy?  I can stay in Brazil about a week before I must return to the USA.  Will they give her an interview and wait for the medical results?  Are the medical results forward to the embassy rather quickly?

Many thanks,

Michael and Ana

At this point she won't need the police certificates but once she does, she can get them online, no need for them to be notarized. For birth certificates, she needs her original and a simple copy, she will show the original and hand the copy for the officer.

she will set her own interview date, within dates available. Once her interview is scheduled, she can schedule her medical. Some people choose to do them all in the same week, in Rio because there aren't many doctors available in Brazil. The results, depending on where she will do her medical, will get back to the embassy within a week or so. The doctor I went to in BH handed me the sealed envelope and I delivered it myself at the consulate.

by your picture I can see you visited her hometown and close by cities, hope you had a lovely time!

best of luck to you

You're correct, I visit Recife and the photo is from Olinda.  Yes, I had a wonderful time being with her.

Have I read your post correctly, nothing she is required to produce needs to be notarized?
