Yea it depends on the country but in some cases it can take longer... is there a reason you can't get it yourself? (Your family member is in that country but you are not ?) in that case maybe you can get it from that countries embassy where you are currently?

i know on the Japanese certificate it said it would take longer if I couldn't collect it in person / had someone else collect it!! Maybe look on this site for any information on police certs from the specific country you are talking about! Best of luck :)

I am currently living with my husband here in California.. I worked for almost 10 years in Bahrain in Middle East and stayed in philippines for 3 months before coming here.. and good thing that my brother still there to help me.. as they said I just need to provide requirements and send it to my brother to work for it. I hope process would be faster because now we have noa2 I think it would be limited time only🙂 For us to gather requirements or evidence.. thank u @larnar1309 best of luck for all of us too

Congdatualtions 🥂. Some friendly advice, there's people in this group that could tell you what to do next, but better advice would be for you and your spouse to read the USCIS page on what's next after approval, that's the best and objective way, so you educate yourself through the webiste and prepare yourself for the next stage. Anything you don't fully comprehend we might chime in at any moment.

congratulations 🥂

@Yeonin by the way I followed your advice before when u told me I have to contact our senator we send a request July 27th and got approved after a week so it means they really help and did some action😊.. thank u again ☺️

My case is in NVC right now. I got my case # and invoice # by calling them, but they said i have to wait for the welcome letter before I can do anything. Basically I am waiting for the welcome letter either via email or postal mail. Just to give you guys an update.

Did you give them your email address because then you get the welcome letter by email (which usually arrives faster than the snail mail) and then you can login to ceac and submit your agent form etc!

All you need for a CEAC login is the two numbers that you have just received. I was able to submit ds261 and pay one of the fees before my welcome letter arrived by email (the physical copy arrived 2-3 weeks later when I had already completed all of the steps)

The only thing you need your welcome letter for once you already have your two numbers is the document cover sheet which you send with your paperwork, but im pretty sure you can print that from the ceac site too so im not sure why they told you that you can't do anything until it arrives. Try logging in to the ceac website :)

HI all!  I hope all is well.  My husband is here for a few more days before he goes back to Belize.  We are enjoying his visit very much but it is going to be so hard to say goodbye.  The good news is we got our "case complete" on August 9! :D I logged onto the CEAC site and saw the first line (the one that said "in process FOREVER) had gone away.  I called and confirmed with NVC.  I received an e-mail from NVC with a checklist but it is for items that they say he can bring to his interview.  One, my 2016 tax returns, was already included in the packet to NVC but we will have no problem sending a copy of that.  The other is for w-2s which I don't have because it was foreign income.  I am hoping to have that taken care of by having him bring tax transcripts and possibly also a letter from my employer with my 2016 income detailed.  I am thankful that even being in another country I did file taxes!  However I am hoping this checklist does not complicate things for us too much.  We have a joint sponsor because my income was foreign.  My case took 9 weeks and 5 days at NVC from when they received all the documents.  Those of you at NVC now, I know how you feel.  In the beginning it feels like the wait is going to be forever but then all of a sudden, case complete!  Just stay positive and remember that the wait is a little daunting but in most cases it is much faster than the I-130 stage!

Congrats!! Fantastic news and 9 weeks sure is better than the 11 they suggest it will take!

This is really cool!  It's starting to look like that NVC is indeed speeding up the process, based on recent cc's

I Called the NVC and received the case number and as well as the invoice number today. But when I log to the https://ceac.state.gov with the case and invoice number I am able to log for

  • DS-261, Online Choice of Address and Agent but when it goes to the page the button seem to be disable it dosen't do anything. When I click it or when I try to start the application it dosen't do anything. Does that happen to anyone? or Do I still have to wait for the letter from NVC to arrive until i can proceed.
